Upcoming alien invasion survival-horror gameGreyhill Incidentis coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles beginning June 9 alongside its PC release. Horror game fans first took notice ofGreyhill Incidentlast year, when gameplay trailers for it started turning heads.
Not many horror games have taken on alien invasions and UFOs, soGreyhill Incidenthas had no problem standing out from the pack. Initially,Greyhill Incidentwas only confirmed for PC, but it was later confirmed to be making its way to consoles as well. SpecificGreyhill Incidentconsole portsweren’t confirmed at the time, but now horror fans on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 can circle June 9 on their calendars. An Xbox version ofGreyhill Incidenthas not been confirmed at the time of this writing.

Greyhill Incidenthas been compared to games likeOutlastand movies likeSigns. The game is set in the 90s, with players taking on the role of Ryan Baker, whose town has been invaded by Grey aliens. Players have to either sneak past the aliens or fight them head-on as they explore Greyhill for supplies and interact with survivors.Greyhill Incidentgameplay footage released so far looks genuinely creepy, but time will tell if it lives up to expectations.
Luckily, the wait forGreyhill Incidentis nearly at an end. The game’s June 9 release date is merely two months away at this point, and sosurvival-horror fanswill soon have the chance to try the game for themselves. IfGreyhill Incidentlives up to the hype, then it will mark yet another strong new horror game in a year that has enjoyed quite a few impressive horror game projects already.
Things started off hot in January with the release of theDead Spaceremake, which blew away expectations and successfully brought Isaac Clarke’s original adventure up to modern standards.Capcom released theResident Evil 4remakea couple of months later, and it’s safe to say that it too has lived up to the hype, earning near-universal acclaim and selling millions of copies. Looking ahead, there’s plenty more for horror fans to look forward to as well.
Before theGreyhill Incidentlaunches in June, there’sDead Island 2in April, andRedfallandAmnesia: The Bunkerto look forward toin May.Diablo 4may also go a long way in scratching the horror itch for fans of the genre, so by the time it’s all said and done, 2023 should prove to be one of the strongest years for the horror genre to date.
