Fixing the main character’s illness is whatBaldur’s Gate 3is all about. The life of the character and most companions are on the line should this quest fails. One offer for a cure comes from Auntie Ethel who says she can fix it immediately. Yet she requires a strange price to pay and this will appropriately make players think twice.
This article divulges consequences within the game and reveals information the player’s character may not know. Gamers committed to role-playing may wish to stop reading and find these things out for themselves.

Should You Take Auntie Ethel’s Cure?

It should be noted that even though Auntie Ethel makes it sound like a guarantee, she ends up not being about to cure the character since the tadpole has been modified. Unfortunately, the damage to the eye gives the player a permanent inability to make critical hits and a disadvantage on Perception checks from a debuff called ‘Paid the Price.’ If playerssaved the gamebefore this, it’s best to reload that save.
If players are trying to improve their character, consider drinking from the welland taking Auntie Ethel’s second offer when she tries to escape. If players do decide to take this deal, they can learn a small amount about their current condition but the offsetting debuff is simply too hefty a price to pay for that knowledge. As a final insult for making this choice, all party members strongly disapprove of the character’s decision.
Baldur’s Gate 3is available now for PC. The PlayStation 5 version will be available on September 6th, 2023. A version for Xbox Series X/S is still in development.
