Battlefield 2042’s update 5.0.1 went live on June 21 and brought many changes to the game. Besides the fixes implemented to AI soldiers, gadgets, and game modes, the update made some balance changes to fan-favorite weapons like the M416, RM68, and MTAR21. According to the patch notes, the ROM68’s bullet velocity decreased from 790 to 700, and the 4HK range was also decreased by 10 meters on the Standard and High Power ammo while removed from the CQB ammo type. The MTAR21 also received a similar change, as DICE removed 4HK capabilities from the weapon.Battlefield 2042’s new season launched recently, so the game’s developer could have performed these changes to encourage players to test the new rifles added to the title.
The M416 also received some changes, as the game’s developer increased the weapon’s damage from 18 to 22 at 50 meters and from 15 to 18 at 75 meters and beyond, making it a better assault rifle at medium to long ranges. TheM416 is one of the bestBattlefield 2042Portal weapons, and now players can compete more evenly against the futurist alternatives thatBattlefield 2042offers.
Unfortunately for manyBattlefield 2042players, update 5.0.1 also implemented a few changes to the SFARM-GL, AK24, and AEK. All these weapons received a nerf regarding their accuracy as DICE increased their dispersion rate by 9%, making them more inaccurate at longer ranges, something that will affect most players as the SFARM-GL is one of the mostpopular weapons inBattlefield 2042.
