It’s been three years since the last entry in the covetedBattlefieldfranchise released, though that’s all slated to change soon. The next game in the franchise, presumably calledBattlefield 6,has now confirmed its reveal for next month, with more information releasing about the game throughout the summer.

TheofficialBattlefield 6Twitterstarted hinting at a June reveal just yesterday, posting a not-so-subtle tweet about the situation. Initially, a new trailer for the game was expected sometime this week, with fans of the franchise posting their own theories about why the trailer may have been delayed, if it was really delayed in the first place. Theories have ranged from a coronavirus-fueled problem to China’s Long March 5B rocket crashing back into Earth, as the trailer supposedly features an exploding rocket.

Now, however, EA has confirmed thatBattlefield 6informationwill be released next month. EA CEO Andrew Wilson stated that the game is planned as a true next-gen experience, which does imply that the game will be skipping the PS4 and Xbox One console generation. The game will supposedly offer an epic scale, all-out battles for players to take part in, which does make the idea of leveraging the new generation of consoles all the more appealing.

No specific date has been announced for the reveal, however, June does seeE3 2021take place, and while EA won’t be directly involved with the show, it seems like the most obvious time for the nextBattlefieldto debut. It’s possible that the game will appear as part of Xbox’s or PlayStation’s conference, as competition between the two companies has started to heat up in recent weeks.

Notably, an EA Play showcase was confirmed for July 2021, which will likely bring moreBattlefield 6information along with it. That would line up with the promise for information over the summer, and letBattlefieldtake center-stage during a month with few game releases to distract from it.Battlefield 6would be one of the first games made specifically for next-gen consoles if it fully commits to the new tech, which could help it carve out a competitive space over the likes ofCall of Duty.

Battlefield 6is currently in development.
