One major fan concern regarding the upcoming release ofCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Waris the use of the Scorestreak system. Although some fans are happy to see a shift from killstreak focused scoring, there are many questions to still be based with how the new system will function. Fans already know that the developers plan to implement a scorestreak system instead of thekillstreak system seen inModern Warfare.This fact has helped shape fans' expectations as to how they will score new streaks throughout the match. High powered streaks have been a part of theCall of Dutyfranchise for a long time, so it’s no surprise that this feature is at the top of fans' question list.

On Twitter,Call of DutyGame Designer Tony Flame offerednew information in regards toCold War’sScorestreak system. In addition to core information, he gave fans some reasoning behind the change, and even responded to questions on the Tweet.
From this, fans learned that althoughlow-tier Scorestreaks will be easy to earnthrough simple participation the higher tier streaks wills till requires consecutive kills in a single life to earn. Although some fans see this as rewarding players for not playing the objective, Flame made it clear that they are hoping to reward fans that participate in fun and invest their time building skills in the game. Simply put, some players will not earn streaks and that is something the developers are OK with in the next game.
Although the final details are not set in stone, the developers do know that once the game has launched the new data will help them balance play. Flame dipped into the new in-depth economy model that will be used for the game stating that all they need now isanalytic player datato pump in and balance the system with. There no official answer to the competitive ruleset, though Flame commented that the rules are still in development, and more information will be available soon.
Fans are still split on whether the Scorestreak system will be more effective thantraditional Killstreak gameplay. Although Scorestreaks do reward objective-based performance higher, it is still necessary to give some positive feedback to high kill count players as that is a core focus of the shooter game genre. Fans will need to wait until more information is available before knowing for sure whether the new system will make a difference.
