TheCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warbeta has finally arrived, with players who pre-ordered on PlayStation 4 getting to try the game starting today. As formodes in theBlack Ops Cold Warbeta, today features Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Domination, and Combined Arms Domination. Today’s level cap also maxes out at 16, with players then unable to grind out additional levels until later. As of this writing, it is unconfirmed if more levels will be added when theBlack Ops Cold Warbeta starts its second weekend that incorporates PC and Xbox players.
Starting Friday, October 9,Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warwill see the addition of thenewCall of Dutygame mode VIP Escort. The new mode gives players only one life, like in Search and Destroy, as they are tasked with moving an NPC to an extraction site. VIP escort should require teamwork and coordination, and it will be intriguing to see whatCall of Dutyfans think of this new addition to the series.
The final update for theBlack Ops Cold Warbeta’s first weekend will make two changes: Raising the level cap to 25 and adding a new variant ofthe 12v12 mode Combined Arms. In Combined Arms Assault, a mode which sees players fighting over neutral territory, each team advances closer to to the enemy spawn with the goal of completely pushing them back. This tug-of-war mode sounds like an interesting spin on Combined Arms Domination, and players will be able to test it starting October 10.
Nothing is said in the schedule regarding certain weapons being available on certain days, which should leave players free to access all thebestBlack Ops Cold Warbeta gunsfrom day one. With this staggered schedule that adds new content daily,Call of Dutyfans should have a busy weekend ahead of them.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warwill be available November 13 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
