Reddit user andCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2fanBondCool gathered every weapon from the beta and put it into a large list, organizing weaponry with labels like AR and SMG. However, they also include some weapons that have been leaked or guns that would perfectly fit into existing weapon platforms. Though they do clarify that the game could launch with more weapons than what is currently listed, they do believe there are “not too many” launch guns beyond the ones mentioned.
If this list turned out to be accurate, there could be over 50 weapons available from the get-go inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, though fans should obviously keep their expectations in check. Five handguns and four launchers are confirmed, with the Combat Knife and Riot Shield serving as melee options. Three shotguns will seemingly be available whenModern Warfare 2launches on October 28as well. All the other categories will have several guns, with the SMG and Assault Rifle classes unsurprisingly being packed.
There are several weapons listed that should prove exciting for longtime fans, such as the P90 and the Honey Badger from2013’sCall of Duty: Ghosts. The AUG and FAMAS will apparently both be available, with the former set to have three variants. The iconic Desert Eagle is also listed. As for the weapons BondCool is unsure of, the Colt 9mm, Dragunov, HAMR, SCAR PDW, and AX-50 are listed as possibilities. Even if only the confirmed weapons make the cut, a lot of popular modern day guns will be included in the game.
While many are happy with the list, commenters did mention some other weapons they want to see, with the UMP 45, FAL, and G36 all being popular responses. Fortunately,Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s post-launch Seasonscould add these weapons and more.
