WhileCall of Duty: Warzonehas certainly seen its fair share of bugs, one new issue has proven to be so game-breaking that it requires drastic action. Until Raven can fix the exploit,Call of Duty: Warzoneplayers will have to make do without attack helicopters.
Helicopters have been temporarily removed from the game due toCall of Duty: Warzone’s invisibility exploit. Cheaters could trigger the glitch by deliberately crashing attack helicopters into the ground while firing the new vehicle’s minigun. The result led to the players being completely invisible to their foes, yet still being able to do damage and secure cheap wins. With enough games being won by the cheaters, Raven made the tough call to disable the attack helicopter variant.

The news came via a “PSA” tweet from the official Raven Software account, with the team announcing thatCall of Duty: Warzone’s new attack helicopterhas been “temporarily removed from bothWarzonemaps.” While it was previously unclear if the bug was impacting players on the new Rebirth Island map as well, it would appear that the attack helicopter was just as game breaking in the otherCall of Duty: Warzonelocation. Thankfully, the normal helicopter will still be available for players to use.
While this is certainly the right move on the part of Raven, as the exploit was becoming a major issue for players, it is a bit disappointing that a brand-new vehicle was taken out of the game before players had the chance to try it. Thankfully, the vehicle is confirmed to return “once the related issues have been fixed,” as Raven confirmed that the removal of the attack helicopter is because of the “bug causing players to appear invisible.” Before long, players should be gunning each other down with the streakacross all of Rebirth Island.
Intriguingly, this is not the first time helicopters have beenremoved fromCall of Duty: Warzone. The vehicles were taken out of the mode for balancing reasons back in October, with the helicopters having been removed for a different reason back in May. During the Summer months,Call of Duty: Warzonecheaters had found a way to fly the vehicles under the map, with the game-breaking exploit forcing Raven to take action. With history repeating itself via the invisibility exploit, players should expect to see the attack helicopters return some time in the next few days.
Hopefully, this will be the last timeCall of Duty: Warzonefans need to deal with buggy helicopters. With players already needing to deal withrecon bugs inCall of Duty: Warzoneas well as broken double XP tokens, it would certainly be nice to see a few less bugs and glitches.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One.
