This week, Infinity Ward released a new update forCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, bringing in not only new fixes but fan requested content such as master camos for weapons, a playlist update, and more. The update also added a bit of mystery to theWarzoneside of the game withthe new Red Access Card itemswhich started dropping, though fans remain perplexed on what exactly to do with them. Most Wanted contracts also replaced standard bounties and while the jury may still be out on them, they seemed to have also introduced a major bug into the game.
WhileCall of Duty: Modern Warfaremay not be light on bugs, the Most Wanted contract bug is proving to be hugely problematic and game breaking for many players. As seen on Reddit, one player attempts to revive one of their teammates who is in a downed state in the back of an armored truck. While performing the revive, the timer on the current Most Wanted bounty is also in the process of expiring tasking the current player to protect their currently downed teammate.

Oddly enough, as soon as they finish the revive animation, the bug takes hold as the player’s currently equipped weapons seemingly disappear completely. As expected, the original poster of the video then went on to reveal that they ultimately ended up getting eliminated like 15 second after the clip ended due to the game not thinking they had any equipped weapons.
Infinity Ward has yet to respond to this issue and while the odds of someone reviving a downed teammate who’s also the current bounty target seems slimmer than normal, clearly the bug that results can have a hugely negative impact on the gamesimilar to the unfair Gulag weapon bug. As such, this is something that Infinity Ward will likely look to correct in an upcoming update.
The bounty change has been largely seen as controversial by the community as many players continue to voice their support for the old style. The idea behind the Most Wanted contracts is that the player can opt in to being a target for all enemy players. If they manage to survive for a set amount of time, their reward will bethe redeployment of their entire squad. It’s certainly a game changer especially in the late stages of the game, though it appears that most in the community want to see regular bounties added back as well. Infinity Ward has been in this position countless times, removing popular features and then adding them back, so it seems some sort of change could be on the horizon.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
