In the early days ofWarzone, Verdansk was brimming with thermal dual-power scopes and HDRs. Thethermal sniper optics have since been nerfed, and players have transitioned to quicker andmore functional loadouts. In Season 1, few players use the AX-50 or the HDR inWarzone.

The days of 500-meter sniper battles are over, and the current best snipers allow players to be faster and more agile.Cold Warbrought players three more snipers to test out, and two of them are actually meta weapons. Players that lovetaking down enemies with one shotshould use the weapons at the bottom of this list.
Rytec AMR
The Rytec is a low tier sniper due to its considerable recoil and slow handling. The explosive rounds may be fun to use, but they are not very practical to use against opponents or vehicles.Players can have great games using the weapon, but there are several snipers that are much easier to use.
M82
TheM82 is viable, but the otherCold Warsnipers are better inthe current meta. The sniper resembles the HDR and AX-50 in many respects. TheModern Warfareweapons have better attachments and better sights, so players would be better off with the HDR or AX-50
Dragunov
Without question, the Dragunov is one of the worst snipers in theCall of Dutyseries. The Dragunov was terrible at launch, but received a buff two seasons ago and most players still do not use it.

Many players shy away from using the gun because it takes two headshots to down an enemy with full armor plates. The Dragunov is a great option for players who want to use the gun like a DMR.
AX-50
The AX-50 is still a great weapon to use at long range, but its slight bullet drop and slow aim down sight speed make it just a hair worse than the below snipers. Because the AX-50’s fire rate is slightly faster than the HDR, it was considered the best sniper during the first few seasons ofWarzone. The thermal dual power nerf forced players away from the bulky long-range snipers.
HDR
The HDR has amazing bullet velocity, and players can aim right at an enemy’s head at 100 meters. The gun’s fire rate is quite slow, however, and players will struggle to confirm downed enemies. In downtown, the HDR is a camper killer and the sniper is still viable in all modes. In the current state of the game, players are better off using one of the below options.
Pelington 703
The ground loot Pelington is awful, and players that have used it know how ridiculous the bullet drop is. With the right attachments, the Pelington fits into the meta as one of the multifaceted snipers. The weapon has good bullet velocity with the right attachments and no sniper glint with the 4x optic.
SP-R 208
The SP-R is an amazing weapon with incredible bullet velocity and clean reticles. The sniper loses out to the Kar because of its slow aim down sight time and slightly slower fire rate. Both the Kar and the SP-R are great options, but players that use the Kar will be able to react faster.
LW3-Tundra
The Tundra is the bestCold Warsniper because the weapon can dominate from intermediate range to over 200 meters. It has better handling and mobility stats than theModern Warfaresnipers and players can zoom in up to 20 times with the 1x-20x optic.
Kar98k
TheKar98k is the best sniperto use in Season 1. The sniper is a one-shot kill to the head, and extremely easy to use. Players can challenge opponents at medium range with quick aim down sight speed and a fast fire rate. If players miss their shots, they only have to wait a split second before firing another. The quickness and versatility of the Kar make it the top sniper in the game. The Kar will struggle at greater distances even with the variable scope, as the optic has less zoom than the HDR and AX-50.
