Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Timeis in the works. An accidentally published rating from the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee put out the newCrash Bandicoot’s box art in all its glory. But apparently that was just the first major leak. Since then, someone’s posted 15 new screenshots from what appears to be theCrash Bandicoot 4announcement trailer. The screenshots confirm a huge variety of details, including multiple playable characters, the return of a notable villain, and even the game’s release date.
Three playable characters are focused on in the trailer, or at least in the screenshots of the trailer.Crash Bandicootfeatures prominently, obviously, but so does Coco Bandicoot. Coco admittedly looks quite a bit different from her earlier appearances, with much whiter hair. The third playable character is a huge surprise, as it appears to be thevillainous Doctor Cortex himself. He’s only shown in one fuzzy screenshot, however, so there’s clearly some clarification needed.

With three playable characters shown, it opens up the possibility ofCrash Bandicoot 4having a large roster of playable characters. Three were shown in the trailer, but a fourth was teased in previous leak. Aleaked pin of Tawnashows that Tawna also has a new look and could be a big part of the new game. And if Cortex, Tawna, and Coco are all playable, who knows who else could be?
As for the game’s story, there are some interesting hints there, too. One screenshot shows a new mask character, followed by Crash jumping around wearing armor very similar in style to the new mask. Also interesting, but not surprising givenCrash Bandicoot 4’s subtitle, is that two settings are featured prominently. There’s a sort of prehistoric jungle of sorts, as well as a futuristic city.Time traveldefinitely seems like a big feature of the game.
Then there’sCrash Bandicoot 4’s release date. A screenshot of the trailer’s title card is shown showing a release date of May 31, 2025. This release date could change, but if the trailer is accurate then there’s no reason not to believe it.
Crash Bandicootfans are likely to be deluged in new information aboutCrash Bandicoot 4just as soon as the game gets officially announced and unveiled. When that reveal will take place isn’t clear, but it can’t be far off. Pay attention to theSummer Game Festschedule and expect moreCrash Bandicoot 4news soon, perhaps even next week.
