Propagation: Paradise Hotelis an upcoming horror game that looks like a virtual reality version of a classicResident Evilgame.Propagation: Paradise Hotelis being developed by WanadevStudio, which has been building a reputation for itself as one of the better VR game developers the industry has to offer.
WanadevStudio’s most famous game isRagnarock, a VR music/rhythm game where players drum to the beat of various songs, all with a Norse viking theme. WanadevStudio also made the originalPropagation, a survival-horror game that iscurrently available for VR gamers to play for free. The originalPropagationis short and mostly focused on combat, whereasPropagation: Paradise Hotelseems to be a more fully-featured experience.

Propagation: Paradise Hotelis scheduled to launch on May 4, at which point it will be available through Steam and Meta Quest. A PlayStation VR2 version ofPropagation: Paradise Hotelis in development as well, but a specific release date has not been announced at the time of this writing. InPropagation: Paradise Hotel, players take on the role of Emily Diaz, who is exploring the titular hotel in search of her missing twin sister Ashley. Based on the gameplay trailer, horror fans can expect gameplay not unlikeold-schoolResident Eviltitles, with Emily even pulling out a map at one point that could have been ripped straight from Capcom’s survival-horror franchise. And also likeResident Evilgames, players will find themselves facing off against all matter of horrific creatures.
Paradise Hotel is swarming with zombiesand other creatures. Emily will have to work together with security guard Owen to survive against the monsters. They have a variety of weapons to defend themselves with, but players will have to be careful about how they use their resources, which is typical of the survival-horror genre. Needless to say, anyone that’s a fan of classicResident Evilgames or the originalPropagationwill definitely want to keepPropagation: Paradise Hotelon their radar, and luckily, its release date is right around the corner.
Propagation: Paradise Hotelis just the latest new horror game in what has already been a standout year for the genre. In terms of traditional games, 2023 has already seen the release of theDead Spaceremake and theResident Evil 4remake, while VR horror has had some notable releases as well.One of the bigger ones wasThe Dark Pictures: Switchback VR, a PlayStation VR2-exclusive rail shooter from the creators ofUntil DawnandThe Dark Pictureshorror anthology series. Needless to say, horror fans have had no shortage of games to play this year, and there are plenty more on the way.
