With a flair for the dramatic and a wit as deadly as his knives, Chucky –the serial killer dollfrom the comedy horror franchiseChild’s Play– arrives inDead by Daylightwith ferocious speed and unnerving stealth. Capable of hiding himself from Survivors with his Hidey-Ho ability, Chucky can launch ferocious stealth attacks, rushing forward with his Slice & Dice to quickly close gaps and inflict damage.
To fully make the most of Chucky’s powers inDead by Daylight, players must adapt quickly to Survivors and play around loops carefully. These select perks and add-ons can vastly improve Killers’ chances of success, featuring builds with both teachable and non-teachable perks for players with a variety of access to other DLC Killers.

Updated June 22, 2025 by Lewis Smyth:Chucky has received some significant changes since the deadly doll first arrived in Dead by Daylight nearly a year ago, though he remains a top-tier Killer. This updated guide features tweaked builds and a new best add-on tier list.
The Good Guy: Best Beginner Build (2024)
For players who only have access to Chucky’s perks, this impactful build makes use of two Good Guy perks. This build focuses ontracking Survivors and Exposing themthroughout the game with Bitter Murmur and Friends ‘till the End. Meanwhile, Batteries Included and Hex: No One Escapes Death work in tandem to increase The Killer’s speed in the endgame and leave all Survivors vulnerable to an instant down.
The Good Guy: Best Build (2024)
A short, slow-moving Killer like Chucky often needs information on what is directly around him. To this end, arguably the best build to run onThe Good Guy inDead by Daylightincludes Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance and Pop Goes the Weasel to decimate generator progress and force Survivors from them. Furthermore, the impressive strength of Corrupt Intervention stalls generators and draws Survivors near in the early game while Nowhere to Hide allows him to find those hiding nearby.
S
Rat Poison
Auras of Survivors are revealed for 5 seconds while performing a Slice & Dice
Allows you to out-mindgame Survivors at most loops by reading their movements constantly

Power Drill
A successful Slice & Dice reduces Hidey-Ho Mode cooldown by 10%
Reduced power cooldown gives you the opportunity to land quicker follow-up attacks

Jump Rope
Increases Slice & Dice duration by 8%
Gives you 8% extra range on Slice & Dice attacks, helping you hit distant Survivors

Automatic Screwdriver
Missed Slice & Dice attacks reduces Hidey-Ho Mode cooldown by 8%
Like the Power Drill, getting back into Hidey-Ho Mode a little sooner can make a big difference

Electric Carving Knife
Decreases Slice & Dice miss cooldown by 5%
Good for beginners, this add-on makes missing your attacks more forgiving, likeThe Demogorgon’s Mew’s Guts add-on

Portable TV
Increases Slice & Dice duration by 70% once the exit gates are powered
An exceptional endgame add-on that allows you to cover huge distances in Slice & Dice once all generators are complete

Yardstick
Scampers reveal nearby Survivor auras for 3 seconds
Similar to the Rat Poison, the Yardstick lets you track Survivors as you Slice & Dice, better enabling you to land special attacks

B
Straight Razor
Slice & Dice attacks inflict Mangled and Hemorrhage for 80 seconds
Like Sloppy Butcher, this add-on can slow down healing and enable health state pressure

Hair Spray & Candle
Basic attacks remove 20% Hidey-Ho Mode charge
Can better enable double-tapping Survivors by allowing you more time to land a basic attack followed by a Slice & Dice

Iridescent Amulet
Increases Hidey-Ho duration by 50%. Basic attacks immediately end Hidey-Ho Mode
Gives you more purchase to sneak up on Survivors in Hidey-Ho Mode from a greater distance before you have to reveal yourself. This also helps in mindgaming Survivors at loops as you hide your Red Stain longer
Strobing Light
Decreases your Terror Radius by 8 meters while Hidey-Ho is in cooldown
Works well in tandem with perks likeThe Doctor’s Monitor and Abuseto get the jump on Survivors
Hard Hat
Performing a Scamper under a pallet immediately breaks it
Can be helpful in chase by saving time breaking pallets, though Scampering under pallets isn’t always the best play
Decreases Slice & Dice hit cooldown by 7%
An okay effect, but barely noticeable
Running Shoes
Gain 2% movement speed for 5 seconds after a Scamper
Similar toThe Xenomorph’s haste add-on, the Running Shoes provide a very mild effect
Pile of Nails
Manually ending Hidey-Ho Mode will retain your Undetectable effect for 3 seconds
Not bad, and can catch Survivors off-guard, but manually ending Hidey-Ho Mode is something you’ll rarely want to do
D
Plastic Bag
Survivors become Exhausted for 15 seconds after walking through an illusory Footfall
Difficult to ascertain the value of, as the effect is very inconsistent
Blood pools are more visible in Hidey-Ho Mode
A perfectly fine tracking effect, but not incredibly valuable
Doll Eyes
Nearby windows and downed pallets are revealed while in Hidey-Ho Mode
Not particularly useful in a typical game unless you’re unfamiliar with typical map and tile layouts
F
Silk Pillow
Decreases your Terror Radius by 8 meters, but increases Slice & Dice charge time by 50%
Unless you are actively pursuing a small Terror Radius build on Chucky, the Silk Pillow’s costly downside is rarely worth the tradeoff
Mirror Shards
You can see illusory Footfalls around Survivors
As you can also hear nearby illusory Footfalls, this add-on can actually make tracking Survivors through walls harder in Hidey-Ho Mode
