The king of the asymmetric horror genre always aims to celebrate the festive season, doing so in 2022 by bringing back theDead by DaylightBone Chill Winter Event, complete with a new seasonal tome and several Christmas-themed cosmetics that can be purchased from the in-game store. Throughout Christmas,Dead by Daylightplayers will be able to enter the codeCOLDSTAREinto the “Redeem Code” section of the in-game store to unlock three separate head cosmetics for The Deathslinger, Twins, and Blight. These three cosmetics are part of the “Frosty Eyes” series, which gives the killers bright, glowing eyes that can be seen from quite a distance when equipped. While some may rightfully argue that this reduces the stealth potential of any killer using the cosmetic, and that they aren’t exactly some of thebest killer cosmetics inDead by Daylight, many players will be appreciative of the opportunity to get their hands on alternate skins for their characters without having to spend a cent.

These three limited-time cosmetics will only be available throughout the Christmas season, and after will remain unobtainable until Christmas 2023. Also worth noting is the ongoing tome for the Bone Chill event, which allows players to complete difficult archive quests to obtain some similarly exclusive cosmetics for characters such as David King andthe terrifyingDead by Daylightkiller known as The Dredge. If players are unable to obtain these cosmetics by the time the event ends, they will likely be added to the in-game store at some point in the future, though this would require players to spend real money to unlock them.

Though the currentDead by Daylightmeta has some undeniable problemsthat need to be dealt with in the future, players should aim to make the most of the festive season by getting their hands on limited-time cosmetics, both through the use of code COLDSTARE and by completing the various challenges contained within the Bone Chill event tome.
