Summary
The Casting of Frank Stoneis a crossover no one expected;Supermassive Gamesteaming up with Behavior Interactive for a new title likeUntil Dawnand theDark Pictures Anthology, only usingDead by Daylightlore and characters, but with no Killer seen in the game itself.
Despite being an online multiplayer horror game, which can often defuse tension,Dead by Daylightstill manages to stroke terror into players' hearts with jumpscares from stealthy Killers, or ones with designs so terrifying players want to put as much distance between them as humanly possible. These Killers could very easily star in their own stand-alone horrorgame to great and terrifying success.

6The Doctor
Play Into The Common Fear Of Doctors And Hospitals
Hospitals are one of the most popular locationsto set a horror game, as hospitals are a place commonly feared by people, and the amount of tragic passings in their rooms leads to many stories from nurses and patients of restless spirits wandering through the wards and hallways.
Doctors are often just as feared as the hospital itself, and the aptly namedDoctorfromDead by Daylightis the scariest healthcare worker anyone could possibly lay their eyes on. He prefers to shock his patients, completely violating his hippocratic oath as he inflicts merry torture on his patients, or rather, his victims. Leery’s Institute and the Doctor are both perfect for some good old-fashioned psychological horror fun, and could make for a great walking sim survival horror game.

5The Knight
The Medieval Era Is Largely Bereft Of Horror Games
No one is safe from the Entity’s reach, not even those who lived centuries ago. Forged in Gog, introduced as Vittorio Toscano and Tarhos Kovacs, or simply theKnightfrom the 1300s. Behaviour Interactive injected a Medieval flair into the fog, with both their characters and the map, the Decimated Borgo.
The horror genre has spanned countless eras and locations, dating back to the Victorian era or taking off into outer space, buttime periods such as the Middle Agesare lacking in horror titles set during this time. The inclusion of the deadly Knight and his henchmen could certainly change that. His guards could also serve as mini-bosses for the players to overcome before they face off against Tarhos himself in a final confrontation.

4The Dredge
A Terrifying Monster With An Equally Terrifying Background
The Dredgeis one of the more unique Killers inDBD, as it was created as a result of a cult-like community that tried to foster positivity to the extreme, banishing anyone they thought guilty of bad thoughts, until the inhabitants became slaves to fear, resulting in The Dredge.
Cults and isolated communities have been used in horror games before - such as inOutlast 2andCall of Cthulhu- to great effect. The Dredge and its backstory would make for an excellent single-player horror game, as players explore The Fold, encountering inhabitants living in their homes in fear, chanting mantras about happy thinking and viewing outsiders as harborers of bad thoughts that must be cleansed, and eventuallyencountering the creaturethey created through their obsession.

3The Huntress
A Woman Who Steals Children Is The Perfect Villain For A Detective Story
Anna, also known asThe Huntresswithin the fog, is one of the free Killers inDBD, andone of the most iconic. She uses her hatchets to injure Survivors from afar, and can swing an axe to devastating effect at Survivors unlucky enough to be close to her.
In the lore, it is stipulated that Anna kidnaps unsuspecting children, attempting to be their mother but unfortunately forgetting basics, like feeding them. A string of children going missing could serve as the crux of an investigative horror game that would task players with looking into the disappearances, and coming face to face with the woman responsible, and her hatchets.

2The Spirit
A Classic, Haunting Ghost Tale Based On Japanese Folklore
Japanese folklorecontains a lot of stories about the spirits of the deceased that linger on the mortal world, responsible for terrifying hauntings or deadly curses, some of which has featured in fantastic Japanese horror games. As such,The Spiritis the perfect Killer to star in a game using this type of mythology.
Her jarring appearance, movement, and the fact she can phase in and out of sight to the eyes of the living already makes her one of the scariest ghosts in gaming. Placing her in a single-player horror game could result in one of the most terrifying ghost hunting games of all time.

1The Unknown
Its Ability To Mimic Could Trick Players Into Falling Into It’s Clutches
Introduced in the “All Things Wicked” chapter,TheUnknownbecame known as the scariestKiller inDead by Daylight. It’s unnerving, gangly body can leave behind black replicas, and even mimic voices it has heard in the past, likely those of previous victims. Survivors watching it barrel towards them will immediately feel compelled to run far and fast to escape the reach of it’s long arms.
As such, The Unknown is ripe for a stand-alone game. The initial chapter teaser trailer showed it dragging unsuspecting campers from their tents as they scream in terror, which means a campground could serve as a great location to start the game. Players determine if the voices they hear are those of their friends or The Unknown trying to lure them into a trap, and guessing wrong would spell their doom.
