ADestiny 2fan has an idea that could help to make the game’s Exotic Armor even better. While some of these unique armor pieces are already quite powerful, others aren’t everything they’re cracked up to be. ThisDestiny 2fan believes their suggestion could help players find a purpose for what are otherwise considered less useful Exotic Armor pieces.
Bungie releasedDestiny 2for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2017, with the game receiving an official next-gen release in 2020. The FPS MMORPG casts players as power-armored warriors known as Guardians. They are tasked with defending the remnants of humanity and an ancient entity called the Traveler from the forces of Darkness.Destiny 2continues its ongoing storyin the game’s expansions. The most recent of which,Lightfall, launched in February and introduced a new enemy to face and a planet to explore. According to some sources, the game continues to see hundreds of thousands of players every day, with about 1.6 million monthly players.

Reddit user andDestiny 2player ProtoMonkey think they can improve the game’s exotic armor pieces and shared the idea on theDestiny 2subreddit. The Reddit user wants Bungie to give each Exotic Armor piece an Artifice Slot. This would allow players to equip an additional Artifact Armor Mod, making their build much more powerful. They argue this would be especially useful for relativelynewDestiny 2playerswith only a few Exotic Armors.
The suggestion saw a mixed reception ontheDestiny 2subreddit. Some liked the idea, while others felt that the existing Exotic Armor perks already offered enough of a boost and they didn’t need anything else. Still more commenters suggested that this approach could work, but only if it was implemented in specific ways and otherwise risked throwing off the game balance. Meanwhile, alternate suggestions included simply increasing the Exotic Armor’s base stats.
SomeDestiny 2players also pointed out that ProtoMoney isn’t the first person to suggest adding Artifice Slots to Exotic Armor. However, this proposal doesn’t work because the Exotic Armor perks technically count as a used Mod Slot, preventing Bunge from adding more. While this explanation seems odd, the number of Slots is hard-coded into the game and impossible to change. Still, it could be an excellent way toimproveDestiny 2’s Exotic Armors, and it’s possible that Bungie could find a workaround, given enough interest and time.
