Bungie has dedicated two livestreams to Into The Light so far, with a third on its way soon, and the completely free update is bringing back fan-favorite weapons with the Brave Arsenal, adding a new horde and tower defense mode, reprising old Exotic missions, and even adding a new PvE challenge called Pantheon. As much asDestiny 2’s Into The Light is a game-changerand breathes fresh air into the game, its Brave Arsenal may already be struggling ahead of release.
One of the issues players have had withDestiny 2for a long time is that a good chunk of its vanilla-era content was eventually vaulted and removed from the game, and the fact that Into The Light is bringing some of it back is a huge boon. Destiny 2’s Current Brave Arsenal Release Schedule Puts a Strain on Into The Light
Destiny 2’s The Final Shape delayput a lot of pressure on Bungie to deliver something huge, and Into The Light is promising to do that and then some. Obviously, loot plays a big part in all of this, and the Brave Arsenal weapons are starting strong - however, delivering half of these guns on April 9 and then one per week through the week of May 21, with each of them having limited-edition versions that will only be available until June 4 can put a strain on the grind.
In fact, this approach can not only create the usual FOMO (fear of missing out) problem the game is familiar with, but also not provide enough time for fans to get all the limited-edition versions of the guns considering that the final one will drop just two weeks before The Final Shape. This is not all doom and gloom, as it will keep players engaged through May as well, but it may not be the best approach for the game’s state and regarding the hype surroundingDestiny 2’s Brave Arsenal.
Why Destiny 2’s Brave Arsenal is Facing Issues on Multiple Fronts
This is especially true when considering that the Brave Arsenal weapons dropping on April 9 with Into The Light’s release are not necessarily the most anticipated ones. They include:
Some of the most anticipated areDestiny 2’s Midnight Coup, Blast Furnace, Hammerhead, and Luna’s Howl, and it’s quite likely that at least a couple of them will drop in May, which limits by a huge margin the amount of time players have to get their desired rolls beforeDestiny 2’s The Final Shape, let alone their limited-edition versions. Brave Arsenal weapons are staying after The Final Shape releases, but that doesn’t apply to their “shiny” versions.
As such, while players will still be able to obtain them at any time in the foreseeable future, collectors will want to try their luck with limited-edition Brave Arsenal guns before they are gone forever, and that being entirely random means it can take a day, or it may never happen. With some fan-favoriteguns returning toDestiny 2in later weeks, players have to stay on the grind if they want to have a chance at the rare versions, but they have no guarantees - and this can easily lead to burn-out.
