Summary

Now that Season 1 ofDiablo 4has officially started, fans of game are discovering a new problem when it comes to inventory space. Inventory space has been an issue for many players ever sinceDiablo 4first launched, and thanks to a new item in Season 1, the inventory situation has gotten worse.

Season 1 ofDiablo 4is called Season of the Malignantand it brings a host of new items and features to Blizzard Entertainment’s newest release. Season 1 is available to players who have completed the main campaign of the game and forces the player to start over with a brand new character. The player won’t get to bring their currency over to the new season, but will retain Renown earned in the campaign, as well as their mounts and how much of the map they’ve unlocked. Season 1 also brings new items for the player, including new Legendary Aspects, new Uniques, and a brand new type of item: Malignant Hearts.

Reddit user Interesting_Tone1290 posted an image of their inventory after obtaining a collection of Malignant Hearts. The image shows the downside ofDiablo 4’s inventory system, as the Malignant Hearts don’t stack, taking up one slot per heart. Many players were already complaining about inventory space when it came to collecting gems, and now the problem with space has been doubled.Diablo 4is a loot-heavy game, so with so many different items taking up slots, it’s easy for players to run out of space quickly.

Malignant Hearts come in four different types inDiablo 4: Wrathful (Super), Devious (Utility), Vicious (Offensive), and Brutal (Defensive). Each type of heart gives the player a different effect based on its category and the class of the character. If these items stacked, it wouldn’t be such a big deal, but even a quick run through a small dungeon can fill up the player’s inventory fast.

The inventory issue is not the only problem when it comes toMalignant Hearts inDiablo 4, as some of the items are not working properly. For example, the Caged Heart of Frozen Terror, a Malignant Heart for Necromancers, which is supposed to inflict the Fear effect for 2.5 seconds per Lucky Hit on an enemy, actually applies the effect to the player instead. Hopefully, future seasons forDiablo 4will release without as many annoying bugs and with more quality-of-life improvements.

Diablo 4is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
