A fewDiablo 4players have been experiencing a worrisome issue while playing the beta version of the game: their GPUs are overheating. Blizzard is currently investigating the matter at the moment, as the beta testing ofDiablo 4continues.
Diablo 4is one of the most hyped games of 2023. Announced back in 2019, the title appeared again when Blizzard revealed thatDiablo 4’s early access beta testingwas coming up. It’s been over 10 years since the rocky launch ofDiablo 3, so players are eager to see what Blizzard has devised this time and are also hopeful to see a better launch. However, it seems that not everything as is smooth as it should be.

Now, a few unluckyDiablo 4players are currently suffering from GPU overheating while playing the game. According to reports from Eurogamer, oneDiablo 4player claimed that he played it for only 20 minutes, and then his computer shut down immediately. After that, he touched his GPU and it was burning hot. Luckily, it was not damaged, but it shows that there is a real risk of burning the GPU right now.
Officially, Blizzard states that the development team is working closely with Nvidia to identify the hardware problem and sort this out as soon as possible. Unfortunately, despite recentlyreleasing a few bug fixes forDiablo 4, there’s still no definitive answer to the problem.
While there is no official fix for the situation, some players are recommending that anyone trying outDiablo 4should limit FPS to avoid these issues. Blizzard is also using its channels to give players a few tips on how to deal with the problem if their graphic cards stopped working, such as conducting a complete power cycle to see if the Windows detects the GPU and installing clean drivers. However, any players who do participate in the beta test of one of themost awaited upcoming action-RPGs of 2023should know that there is a real risk of their GPUs overheating in the process.
Overall, it’s hard to say thatDiablo 4’s beta had an excellent launch. Not only people’s GPUs are malfunctioning, but evenBlizzard warned players about probable long queuesbefore they can start trying the game. Players should expect issues when beta testing games, though. Hopefully these issues are ironed out by the time the game launches later this year.
Diablo 4releases June 6 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
