Popular streamer and co-founder of Midnight Society Dr Disrespect recently had some strong criticism forApex Legends’audio design. In fact, the YouTube streamer called for Respawn Entertainment to sit down with the design team to rework every aspect of the audio design for a better user experience.

Despite being a titan in the battle royale genre,Apex Legendshas consistently struggled with technical issues. Since the game’s launch in 2019, gamers from the highest levels of competitive play to those on the casual side have often complained about the game’s technical state, and The Two Time is no exception.

Over the course of two minutes, Dr Disrespect goes on to talk about the state of the game’s audio. “I always thoughtApex’s audio was great. It really isn’t.” Dr Disrespect stated during his latest live stream. He goes on to suggest that Respawn Entertainment should sit down with the design team to redefine the audio in the game. From every character’s movement to their abilities as well as whether they’re in the air or not, every aspect of the audio should be reworked to sound unique in his eyes. He also goes on to mention his experience inCall of Duty: Warzoneand how the audio situation is better thanApex’s.

Dr Disrespect’s comments come immediately after the fact that “No Apex August” caught some heavy attention in theApex LegendsReddit over the past few days. While the scope of the discussion has included more than just audio complaints, audio has been a huge point of concern for quite some time, as players have been begging for reworks. Dr Disrespect’s words also come from a point of experience, as he was previously a member of Sledgehammer Games and used his talents to create a bevy of multiplayer maps inCall of Duty:Advanced Warfare.

A few weeks ago, popularApex LegendsTwitch streamer, LuluLuvely, echoed similar sentimentsin regard to the state ofApex Legends. One of the top female streamers on the streaming platform, LuluLuvely was very critical of the game’s technical problems, such as the never ending issue with custom lobbies. She also pointed to a lack of content as a major flaw.

While Dr Disrespect’s points are valid, it could be awhile before Respawn even address the myriad of issues fans have pointed out. With its plate full in the near future thanks toStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Survivorand the single-playerFPS title set in theApex Legendsuniverse, audio problems and the technical state of the game may be in the back of Respawn’s mind for the time being.

Apex Legendsis available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
