Dying Light 2 Stay Humancame out just a few days, and it appears to be a massive hit for developer Techland.Dying Light 2is already a big success on Steamand fans can likely expect it to be at the top of Steam’s Top Sellers list for some time.

The console version ofDying Light 2also appears to be solid. On PS5 and Xbox Series X,Dying Light 2allows players to choose from three different modes. One graphics option focuses on running at the maximum possible resolution, while another aims to deliver a stable 60fps experience. The third option, known as Quality Mode, adds ray tracing and other graphical features. Both Resolution Mode and Quality Mode runDying Light 2at 30fps on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Xbox Series S, on the other hand, only has 1 graphics mode, and a developer has clarified the main reason behind this decision.

This information comes from the Twitter account of Tymon Smektała, the lead designer ofDying Light 2. A fan mentioned that they got motion sickness while playingDying Light 2due to the lack of an FOV slider, head bobbing, and 30fps gameplay. Smektała replied by saying that Xbox Series S can only runDying Light 2at 30fps due to its limited GPU power, but the developer will look into improving the frame rate in the future. He also stated that motion sickness will be addressed in the first patch, and Techland will consider motion blur and FOV for the next update.

The developer will prioritize resolving theco-op issues faced byDying Light 2players, as server problems and disconnects are plaguing the experience for many users. Techland had earlier promised that, after the prologue, players will be able to playDying Light 2fully in co-op.

Most games on Xbox Series S are simply scaled-down releases of the Xbox Series X version. Hits to resolution, various graphical settings, and frame-rate are extremely common, especially in open-world games likeDying Light 2. There is a big difference inraw GPU power of Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and it will materialize in one way or another. In this case,Dying Light 2runs at 1080p/30fps on Xbox Series S, but it is far from a poor version of the game.

Many regard theXbox Series S as still a great machine to play new gamesat lower settings. First-party titles, likeHalo Infinite, do offer multiple graphical modes on Xbox Series S, and some games even manage to run at 120fps. It’ll be interesting to see if further optimization can improve Xbox Series S performance in AAA games as the generation goes on.

Dying Light 2is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
