Hatchets aren’t the most popular of weapon types inElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, but they can be used to make some interesting builds that make use of their fast movesets. The Forked-Tongue Hatchet is one such weapon that players can have a ton of fun with.
Unlike weapons likethe Falx inShadow of the Erdtree, getting the Forked-Tongue Hatchet is going to involve a lot of luck and patience. Here’s a quick tip on how and where to farm it, as well as all the important things you need to know about the weapon.

Forked-Tongue Hatchet Overview: Stat Requirements, Effects, & Skill
A peculiar weapon wielded by imps. Hatchet smithed in the shape of a fork-tongued dragon.
The gently undulating forked blade is known as an “imp’s tongue” and causes blood loss.

The Fork-Tongued Hatchet is, as its name implies, a hatchet-type one-handed axe. It’s smaller and lighter than something likethe Death Knight’s Twin Axes inShadow of the Erdtree, so expect it to hit faster but deal less damage with each hit.
This weapon can be upgraded usingSmithing Stones to +25. Despite that, it cannot be infused or buffed with Ashes of War or consumable items.

Forked-Tongue Hatchet Weapon Skill: Dragonform Flame
The Forked-Tongue Hatchet comes with a unique Ash of War called Dragonform Flame, which makes the player spit flames in a wide arc in front of them. This naturally deals Fire damage, and it does not trigger the weapon’s blood loss build-up.
This weapon skillcosts 14 FPto cast, and it does not have any follow-up attacks. However, the flames produced by the Ash of War will linger for a short duration, making it a great zoning tool for PvP or a source of extra damage for PvE.
Spew fire from a dragon-form maw, sweeping in a frontward arc. The flames on the ground will continue to burn for a short time.
Where To Find The Fork-Tongued Hatchet
Much like theBloodfiend’s Arm inShadow of the Erdtree, the Forked-Tongue Hatchet drops from enemies that wield it — specifically, the stone imps inside the many catacombs within the Shadow Realm. You need to kill imps that are wielding Forked-Tongue Hatchets and hope that you get one. The best place to farm for this weapon is theScorpion River Catacombs, which is directly west of the Ravine North Site of Grace in the Rauh Base region. There are two hatchet-wielding imps in the rooms next to the Site of Grace in the catacombs.
Unfortunately, the drop rate is very low, and finding the right imps can be a little tedious. To maximize your odds of getting one, use items that increase your item discovery like Silver Pickled Fowl Feet and Silver Horn Tenders, or wear items like the Silver Scarab Talisman or Silver Tear Mask.
