A video posted by anOverwatch 2player showed two Reinhardt players running into each other and copying each other’s moves. Facing the same character inOverwatch 2isn’t uncommon, but it’s much rarer to see two players perfectly mirroring each other’s moves.
Overwatch 2is the sequel to Blizzard’s popular team-based first-person shooterOverwatch. There have been new heroes and new maps added, but the heroes from the firstOverwatchare still in the game, although someOverwatchheroes have received massive reworks. Reinhardt’s kit and identity as a durable and aggressive tank hero was also improved, and players have been taking him on to the front lines inOverwatch 2to brawl it out with enemies.

In the video posted to theOverwatch 2subreddit by player South-Cow5009, two Reinhardts ended up running into each other and duking it out. The video begins with both Reinhardts entering a small plaza area and immediately using their ults on each other, knocking each other to the ground. After the knockdown wears off, they both immediately use their charge ability and collide with each other, sending both of them to the ground once again. The whole time they’ve both been taking fire from each other’s teammates. As a result, when the knockdown wears off again, they end up dying at the same exact time, falling to the ground together yet again. While it’s not asimpressive as Doomfist getting a triple environmental kill inOverwatch 2, it is very entertaining.
Some games, like popular MOBALeague of Legends, don’t allow more than one of the same hero in draft or ranked mode. While it does add a strategic aspect to the pre-game in the form of picks and bans denying key heroes to the other team, it can also restrict team comps and keep players from playing heroes that they really enjoy. No mirror heroes could potentially make someOverwatch 2heroes easier to balance, but it also means that there are no mirror matches like the one displayed in South-Cow5009’s video.
Though ranked and competitive play is an important aspect ofOverwatch 2, especially considering thepopularity of Overwatch League, it’s also important to ensure that all players are able to have fun playing the game. Casual players might still play ranked mode, but they aren’t necessarily as concerned about being as competitive as professional players are. It can be a tricky balance to pull off, but funny clips like this Reinhardt mind meld video seem to indicate thatOverwatch 2is pulling it off.
Overwatch 2is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
