One of the big surprises from Capcom during a Sony State of Play back in March was a new IP calledExoprimal. While fans initially believed this to be a newDino Crisisgame, Capcom surprised everyone by revealingExoprimalis focused around third person online multiplayer. The team based action game lets players pick from different exosuits, which serve as classes with abilities, to take on overwhelming waves of dinosaurs in a futuristic sci-fi setting.

Set in the year 2040 and dinosaur outbreaks have threatened humanity’s existence. Thanks to an advanced AI named Leviathan, players are able to fight back against the threat using specialized exosuits. In addition to thefour originally revealed in theExoprimalreveal, Capcom showed off two new Assault class exosuits during its presentation. Barrage specializes in explosives, igniting enemies and using grenades in close quarter combat. The hooded Vigilant exo is better at range, wielding a large rail gun to hit enemies for massive damage.

According to Capcom, the main story game mode is known as Dino Survival, which will attempt to piece togetherthe mystery behind the AI Leviathan, how it controls these dinoswarms, and why it continues to force players to participate in these various wargames. Inside this game mode, two teams of five players race to complete objectives before the rival team does. Objectives are dynamically generated each time and include various missions like:

In addition, Capcom teased situations where players will face off against one another, and then another objective where they need to team up to take down a massive boss character. Capcom is looking to keep Dino Survival feeling fresh and has confirmed that this mode will dynamically change based on progression so that no two sessions feel the same.ExoprimalPlayers will earn new rewards, story cutscenes, as well as XP to further enhance the player character and Exosuit levels.
