The holiday season is kicking into overdrive for a lot of gamers this week, because Christmas is only a few days away, and with it all of the presents that are going to be opened up on that day. ButFall Guyshas decided to start with the gift-giving early by releasing the latest addition to itsimpressive collection of character skins.
Few games have been leaning into the spirit of the season quite likeFall Guys.Season 3 ofFall Guys, which started last week, is completely winter-themed and has added several new icy-themed stages and festive costumes to the goofy platformer battle royale. Given all that, it’s no surprise that Devolver Digital and Mediatonic have decided to take things a step further with Christmas just four days away.

Ahead of the big day on Friday, the two have released a fun little holiday special to hype up the game’s latest skin. The live-action trailer features one of the titular bean-like guys going about his day and getting into appropriately holiday-themed trouble, culminating in him playingFall Guyswith his friends. It’s a pretty cute ad and hits all of the heartwarming notes one would expect from aholiday special, and with a lot of players being unable to celebrate Christmas normally thanks to the pandemic, that kind of feel-good entertainment is something a lot of people will appreciate.
As for the skin itself, the new costume lets players deck their beans out in afull-on Santa Claus suitand beard, which will fit in nicely with the rest of Season 3’s festive skins. From now until December 25, players will be able to claim the costume from inside the game. Best of all, the skin is free, but players will have to act fast if they want to get their hands on it, since it will only be available this week.
It goes without saying at this point that 2020 has been a very rough year for most people, what with a pandemic, political and social strife, next-gen scalpers, anddisastrous launches for highly-anticipated games. Still, during that time, gamers have found relief in many of the titles that came out amid all of this, andFall Guysespecially has provided plenty of the lighthearted laughs a lot of players have needed, along with some of the most enjoyable gameplay in 2020. With that in mind, a free gift and a heartwarming trailer seem like a fitting way for Devolver and Mediatonic to wrap up this hectic year.
