Summary

Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic RPGFallout 4has found itself back at the top of sales charts in Europe, almost nine years after the game’s original release.Fallout 4has seen a resurgence in popularity thanks to the success of theFalloutTV adaptation.

The hype for theFalloutfranchise is the highest it has been for years. When theFalloutTV adaptation was first announced, fans of the franchise reacted cautiously. It’s a series with a very specific tone, and bringing that to screen was seen as an extremely difficult task, especially with the amount of bad-to-mediocre adaptations seen over the years. However, it stuck the landing, and as a result, theentireFalloutseries is getting a big player count boost. It seems that according to sales figures,Fallout 4is getting a bigger increase than the rest of the series.

Fallout 4 Tops European Sales Charts

However, it’s not justFallout 4that has benefitted massively over the past week. The top ten list also includesFallout 76,Fallout: New Vegas, andFallout 3in eighth, ninth, and tenth, respectively. While the general interest in the franchise at the moment is behind this kind of increase, it can also be attributed to theongoing discounts ofFallouttitles, which makes it easier for those coming from the TV show to hop in and explore what the games have to offer.

Despite the success of theFalloutTV show, it seems as though players will have to settle for playing the older titles for the foreseeable future. Bethesda remains committed to the ongoing development ofThe Elder Scrolls 6, and the studio never tends to develop more than one project at a time. WhileThe Elder Scrolls 6is in a playable stateaccording to the studio, it is still likely a few years away. This means that without a surprising change of direction, any potentialFallout 5is a long way away. Given the hype that the TV adaptation is generating at the moment, it’s almost a shame that there isn’t a newFalloutgame to capitalize on this.
