Epic Games reveals the return of the Halloween-inspired Fortnitemares event forFortnite, also confirming new rewards and skins for some iconic characters.Fortnitecontinues to be a massively popular Battle Royale thanks in large part to its live service content delivery style. Not only do players get consistent updates as well as seasonal content, butEpic Games has managed to feature crossoverswith a surprising number of franchises and IPs from video games, to movies, tv shows, and comic book characters from Marvel and DC.

The live service model also ensures that new holiday inspired content is added as well, with October bringing theHalloween inspired Fortnitemares eventon an annual basis. In years past, Fortnitemares taps into the spooky season by introducing new weapons, skins, as well as new game modes that see players working together to take down Cube Monsters in Horde Rush. Each version of Fortnitemares also features a few surprises and this year’s edition seems to follow suit as well.

Alongside a short trailer, a full post on the officialFortnitewebsite detailed the full Fortnitemares 2023 event. Similar to last year which added Rick and Morty, the 2023 event again brings with it some big name skins including Alan Wake, horror icon Michael Myers, and Jack Skellington from the Nightmare Before Christmas. Alongside emotes, back blings, and gliders related to each of the skins, Epic confirmed that the Shop will also feature new and returning outfits from Fortnitemares past such as Seth, Bogstick, Phantom Meowscles, and Festival Phaedra.

In addition to the skins,Fortnitemares is also bringing back the Pumpkin Launcher, Witch Broom, and the Sanguine Sweets (Candy Corn, Pepper Mints, Hop Drops, and Jelly Beans) from the vault to go alongside new additions like the Thorne’s Vampiric Blade and Wood Stake Shotgun. Players can also take part in quests for Horde Rush and Fortnitemares, with each set offering their own rewards for finishing 5, 15, and 25 quests ranging from Back Blings, Icons, Emotes, Wraps, and plenty more.

The holiday event comes at an interesting time for the game as last month Epic Games announced a slight price increase toFortnite’s premium currency known as V-bucks. The adjustment is planned for October 27, right in the middle of Fortnitemares, so fans who are interested in some of the new seasonal offerings will likely want to take advantage of the current prices before the cost to purchase premium currency goes up.

Fortniteis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.
