Forza Horizon 5is the next installment in theForza Horizonracing video game series. The game is developed by Playground Games and published by Xbox Game Studios, and it is scheduled to release this November 9.Forza Horizon 5will be on Xbox Game Passon day one of its release next week for players who use the service.
The developer has been releasing important details aboutForza Horizon 5in recent months before the game’s official release, including its setting, the list of available cars, the different in-game activities, and the PC specs for the game. The developer also shared information about the game’s file size in the past two weeks, thoughForza Horizon 5recently received a live 20 GB update despite not yet being released.

The update went live this past weekend on Saturday, October 30. When the news first dropped, some players suggested that the update was meant to reduce the base game file size forForza Horizon 5from 103 GB on the Xbox Series X/S, 116 GB on the Xbox One, and 103 GB on PC and Steam. This was followed up by an updated post yesterday announcing that the preload forForza Horizon 5is now available on Steam.
According to the post, the developer was able to reduce the install footprint forForza Horizon 5on the Xbox Series X/S consoles by optimizing the game’s assets for higher bandwidth streaming. This means that the game will have a shorter download mixed with “super-fast” loading times, which will allow players to easily jump right into the game. The post states that this was possible due to the high-speed internal SSD storage available onXbox Series X/S consoles.
The rest of the post states thatForza Horizon 5is available to preloadnow with an active Xbox Game Pass subscription, or by pre-ordering the game’s Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, or Premium Edition. Players purchasing the game on physical discs can preload the game now by using the Xbox mobile app on smartphone devices. On the mobile app, players can findForza Horizon 5in the store, then they can select “Download to Console” to receive the game.
The developer does recommend that players who have already preloaded the game before October 21 check their Xbox console or PC for updates to confirm the game files are installed. This will ensure players are ready forwhenForza Horizon 5is availablefor Early Access this Friday for Premium Edition and Premium Add-On Bundles owners, and for when the game releases globally next week.
