Demon’s Soulsis the type of game that is rife with opportunities for online content creators to use for self-imposed challenges. For example, one Twitch streamer has alreadybeatenDemon’s Soulswithout getting hita single time.

Now, one YouTuber has made another template forDemon’s Soulschallenge runs that would make for quite the entertaining watch. YouTuber Super Louis 64 has remapped two DK Bongo controllers to be able to play throughDemon’s Souls, minus a few key inputs, of course.

Super Louis 64’s channel mostly revolves around playing video games with strange controllers. Super Louis 64 has played tons of games with controllers that absolutely should not be used for certain games, especially challenging games from theSoulsseries likeDemon’s Souls. He has playedDark Souls 3with aGuitar Heroguitar, playedMario Kartwith a RingCon controller, and has even made controllers out of a handful of literal bananas. Now, Super Louis 64 has busted out the classic DK Bongo controllers once again to playDemon’s Soulswith.

Super Louis 64’s video goes into detail on how he got these controllers to work with the PS5 and how he modded the bongos to give them the proper inputs. Getting the bongos to work on PS5 was as simple as plugging them in, but assigning the inputs was done separately. Additionally, the DK Bongo controller only has five inputs, so even though Super Louis 64 used two bongos, he only had 10 total inputs to work with. Still, Super Louis 64 is no slouch when it comes to using DK Bongo controllers, seeing as hebeatSekiro: Shadows Die Twicewith DK Bongocontrollers once before.

Essentially, Super Louis 64 got rid of nearly every unnecessary input, only keeping the inputs that were absolutely necessary to play the game, like moving, attacking, and resetting the game’s camera. Much to his and many of his viewer’s surprise, Demon’s Soulscan actually be played relatively well on a pair of DK Bongos. Super Louis 64 accomplishes some impressive feats in the video, even taking downone ofDemon’s Soulsearliest bosses, the Vanguard Demon. Unfortunately, Super Louis hasn’t yet beatDemon’s Soulsusing only his pair of DK Bongos.

Like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twicebefore it, Super Louis 64 has played plenty of games with the DK Bongos. He has played fast-paced shooters likeCall of Duty: Modern Warfarewith bongos, even managing to win games with the unorthodox controller. Super Louis 64 has expressed some desire to finishDemon’s Soulswith the bongo controllers, and may do so eventually on his Twitch channel. Whether he decides to follow through or not, the fact that he beat some ofDemon’s Soulsearly bosses with a par of bongos is pretty impressive in and of itself.
