Summary
No matter how many characters already joined the roster, new characters inGenshin Impactalways find a way to be unique and bring something to the table. Although Sethos is an Electro Bow user just like Kujou Sara, he operates mostly as a main DPS who carries or drives his team’s DMG.
However, like any other playable character, there are somemistakes to avoid when using Sethosthat might negatively affect his performance and ruin the experience of playing with him.

5Not Depending On His Charged Attacks
As a main Electro DPS, Sethos heavily relies on his Charged attacks to deal DMG. The DMG of his Shadowpiercing Shot is actually not that bad and can be amplified with Aggravated reactions too. Understandably, some players might find Sethos confusing since he infuses his Normal attacks with Electro when he enters his Elemental Burst state while the main focus of his Kit, stats, andConstellations is to maximize the DMGof his Charged attacks.
SethosElemental Burst is meant to turn him into a driverto grant him more utility when teaming him with other characters. Not to mention, during Sethos’ Twilight Meditation state, his Normal attacks are converted into enemy-piercing Dusk Bolts and are considered to deal Charged attack DMG. So, most of the buffs to his Charged attacks are included in every Dusk Bolt he shoots. However, with all that being said, he’s still a more reliable and much better DMG dealer when using his Shadowpiercing Shot during combat.

4Charging His Shots Without Having Energy
When charging Sethos' arrows, he will stand in his place and become a vulnerable target to enemies during combat. This problem is solved with his first Ascension passive that grants him the ability to fully Charge his arrow immediately at the cost of 20 of his Energy.
It’s crucial to maintain and use his Energy regeneration methods to keep Sethos swiftly Charging his Shadowpiercing Shots just likeTighnari inGenshin Impact. Other than the usual ways of getting Energy, Sethos’ Elemental Skill has a built-in battery mechanic that provides him with a decent amount of Energy for his next Charged attack.

3Building Him With The Wrong Focus
As DPS, it’s important to build Sethos to deal the most DMG possible to fully take advantage of his time on the field. For that, building him with the right artifact sets and weapons is essential. As a unit that mostly depends on his Charged attacks and scale with Elemental Mastery, building Sethos with Wanderer’s Troupe adds a lot to his DMG. He can work with other options like Marechaussee Hunter and Flower of Paradise Lost depending on his role in the team. For example, if he’s the Electro driver for aHyperbloom team inGenshin Impact, it’s better to build him with Flower of Paradise to amplify each Hyperbloom he triggers.
As for weapons, since Sethos’ playstyle and scaling are so close to Tighnari’s, go for Tighnari’s signature weapon, Hunter’s Path. Sethos has some alternative options too, such as Cloudforged, which appears in his Character Demo. Having his stats, artifacts, and weapon focus on maximizing his Elemental Mastery and the DMG of his Charged attacks while adding some Crit to his kit is the recipe for success for Sethos inGenshin Impact.

2Teaming Him With Redundant Characters
Since Electro is a fragile element by itself and heavily relies on other Elements to be relevant in the meta, anyElectro user inGenshin Impactneeds to team up with characters that can elevate their DMG. Some characters may look fancy but they don’t have anything to add to Sethos. On the other hand, characters like Kazuha, Furina, Chevreuse, and Fischl really complement Sethos’ kit and help him perform better.
Perhaps the best character to pair with Sethos is Nahida. She’s an amazing unit to always consider since she increases his Elemental Mastery while providing a reliable Dendro DMG and application without using any field time. This helps Sethos deal so much Aggravate DMG and even Hyperbloom if his team had aHydro unit inGenshin Impact. Knowing the demand is high for Nahida since she fits everywhere, you may team Sethos with Baizhu, who’s not on the same level but provides a decent Dendro application with some good buffs to Sethos’ Dendro reactions.

1Not Going For His Constellations
Sethos is a useful4-star unit inGenshin Impactwithout his Constellations. Like most Electro users who have strong Electro applications, Sethos excels in Hyperbloom and Overloaded team comps. However, without his Constellations, that’s all that Sethos can be reliable for.
If you’re planning to use him as an actual main DPS, you have to go for at least his first two Constellations since they add a decent amount of DMG to his Charged attacks, which in turn, allows him to perform better withDendro characters inGenshin Impact.
