Player Mistakes

Back to All Characters

Joining the playable character roster inGenshin Impact’s version 4.3 update, Chevreuse is a long-needed Pyro support/sub-DPS character that can allow players to try out new, unique synergies for their team compositions. This is because Chevreuse specifically focuses on enhancing Pyro and Electro characters, primarily with the Overloaded reaction, while also having access to healing through her kit, enabling players to focus on other roles rather than healing if necessary.

It is worth noting, however, that while she can be an excellent support unit for both Electro and Pyro DPS characters, similar to theteam limitations Nilou has broughtfor Bloom-oriented teams, the ideal team compositions for Chevreuse should consist of only Electro and Pyro characters, with at least one of each to be able to trigger Chevreuse’s passive ability to reduce enemies' Pyro and Electro RES. There are many viable options for Main DPS, Sub DPS, and Support units, and players can mix and match them based on their preferences. Here are some of the best characters to use with Chevreuse based on their roles.

Chevreuse Icon

If players have access to Chevreuse’s sixth constellation, she is able to significantly buff Electro and Pyro damage for characters without needing to limit themselves to a duo-element team composition imposed through her passive. As such, players can still consider other Elemental characters and try out different elemental reactions if they have obtained her sixth constellation.

Best DPS Characters with Chevreuse

When deciding which DPS characters work best with Chevreuse, it’s important to remember that not every Electro or Pyro character may be the optimal option, especially if their elemental application intervals are better suited for other reactions. For example, while Hu Tao might be considered one of the best Pyro DPS characters, it’s still better to consider her with a Vaporize team instead. In that sense, the DPS characters with themost suitable Overloaded synergyare as follows:

Polearm

5-star

Raiden Shogun is by far one of the best Electro hyper-carry characters that can work great with Chevreuse. Her elemental application is quite fast, allowing for the effective utilization of the Overloaded reaction. She can also work excellently as a sub-DPS for other team compositions alongside Chevreuse if players are considering utilizing a Pyro on-field character primarily. Moreover, if players have access to the sixth constellation of Chevreuse, combining Chevreuse and Raiden has the potential to surpass other Raiden Shogun Overloaded team compositions, as Chevreuse will be able to buff Raiden Shogun more than Kazuha’s buffs for this particular team composition. A good example of a Raiden Shogun team composition can include Raiden Shogun, Chevreuse, Bennett, and Kujou Sara.

Pyro

Another good main DPS to pair with Chevreuse is Yoimiya, who previously only benefited from mono Pyro team compositions or other Overloaded team compositions due to her fast Pyro application. Now with Chevreuse, Yoimiya’s damage potential can increase further without losing any benefits of including any other characters in her stead. It is worth noting, however, that for this team to be effective, it is still important to include Electro characters that can match the Pyro application of Yoimiya, with great examples being Raiden Shogun. Considering that Chevreuse can heal Yoimiya, it might also be worth considering characters that can provide resistance to interruption or damage reduction, such as Beidou or Diona, to ensure Yoimiya can consistently upkeep her damage.

Lyney works relatively similarly to Yoimiya and also benefits from having a large number of Pyro characters in his team composition to gain as much ATK buff as possible. In this case, it is possible topair Lyney with Chevreuse, along with another Pyro character and an Electro character to ensure the maximum buffs are obtained. Considering that both Chevreuse and Lyney can heal, the composition can include other characters without needing to focus on healer options. Regardless, defensive characters like Dehya can still be useful in certain situations. Alternatively, for a pure damage-oriented option, Xiangling and Fischl can work excellently as strong sub-DPS choices.

Another Electro DPS character players may want to consider is Cyno, who is typically used for Hyperbloom or Aggravate teams. However, those who are looking for different playstyles for this character can still find combining him with Cyno and Chevreuse worth a try. This combination, along with any suitable sub DPS and other support characters, can be effective since Cyno’s Electro application is well-suited for Overloaded as well. Despite ranged characters having a bit more advantage in compensating for Overloaded’s pushback effect, players can explore different playstyles with this team composition.

Best Sub-DPS and Support Characters with Chevreuse

Chevreuse might be a sub-DPS and support character on her own, but her team compositions can definitely benefit further from including characters that provide great synergy or utility that Chevreuse herself cannot provide for the team.

4-star

Fontaine Emblem Final

Considering that the truesub-DPS Pyro characters in the rosterare quite limited, the only character that matches the description for this role is Xiangling. While she may be better suited for teams that have melee DPS characters like Raiden Shogun or Cyno, as opposed to Yoimiya or Lyney, due to her Pyronado’s range, if players are looking for a good and consistent off-field Pyro application, they won’t need to consider any other character for this role. It is worth noting, however, that Xiangling’s effectiveness is highly tied to being able to activate her burst as often as possible, which may make her a better option especially for Raiden Shogun teams since she is able to provide energy for the entire team effectively.

Catalyst

For Electro sub-DPS characters, players have a bit more options to select from depending on their preferences. All of these options will perform relatively similarly, with some nuances in the added benefits they may bring. For example, Fischl is excellent in predominantly ranged team compositions, while also having the utility as a battery character. On the other hand, Beidou could be helpful for damage reduction and resistance to interruption.Yae Miko can bring higher damage outputor electro application range, especially if players have access to her constellations, while also being able to apply electro to different opponents. This might work better if the players are combating a large number of enemies at the time.

Sword

While Chevreuse can heal the active character, considering that her healing is HP-focused while her sub-DPS potential is tied to ATK scaling, players looking tocontribute to the healing of the teamcan still benefit significantly from having Bennett in the team. Bennett brings added benefits such as energy regeneration, ATK buffing for the characters, all of which most other characters well-suited to be paired with Chevreuse can benefit from as well.

Claymore

Dehya may not have been a very sought-after character upon her release; however, pairing her with Chevreuse in an Overloaded-oriented team can still bring a lot of benefits. With Chevreuse in the team, the characters will be able to get healed and buffed but may still be quite prone to getting interrupted or taking significant damage. In particular, characters like Lyney or Yoimiya can find someutility for Dehya in the team, especially if players are interested in finally being able to utilize Dehya’s kit without losing much advantage of utilizing another character instead.
