With the release of the Fontaine region only a couple of months away, fans of the popular HoYoverse RPG have been treated to plenty of teasers for the Hydro region. HoYoverse has shown off tidbits ofthe region’s aquatic theming through official teasers, suggesting Fontaine may introduce underwater gameplay. Both leaks and in-game content have also hinted at several new characters planned for the RPG.

WhileGenshin Impacthas yet to officially confirm any of the new region’s playable characters, leaks have already showcased a plethora of upcoming roster members. Lyney and Lynette have been the focus of several leaks, suggesting the characters first revealed in the game’s “Travail” trailer will debut early in Fontaine. HoYoverse would officially introduce Fontaine’s first unique character in-game with Charlotte’s appearance during the Version 3.7 main event, with others like “Captain R” and Wriothesley emerging from leaks. Now, another new member of the game’s upcoming cast has been revealed.

A new image shared by prominentGenshin Impactleaker Tao has revealedthe appearance of upcoming character Dahlia, as well as confirming his element and weapon. The character features heavy tones of crimson throughout his outfit, running similar to the previously leaked appearance ofanother upcoming character in Wriothesley. The post confirms Dahlia will debut withinGenshin Impactas a Hydro Catalyst user, a common combination throughoutGenshin’s many playable characters. Some astute fans have also discovered Dahlia appears to have a Mondstadt Vision, suggesting the character may hail from the game’s first region.

The addition of a new Mondstadt character would come as the region has been the subject of several rumors in recent months, both featuring new characters and new areas. Leaks have suggested Mondstadt’s renowned Varka may finally make his debut inGenshin Impact, after being referenced several times early in the game’s story. The first playable region is also heavily rumored to bereceiving a new map expansionin the future with locations like Dornman Port and the Dandelion Sea teased as potentially becoming explorable.

The plethora of leaks aboutGenshin Impact’s upcoming roster additions arrive at an unusually quiet time for the game’s character pool. Version 3.7 introduced just one new four-star character with the addition of Kirara, the first update since Version 2.8 that has not introduced a new five-star character. Version 3.8 is also heavily rumored tonot add any new characters toGenshin Impactfor the first time since the game’s release. While players may be waiting until Fontaine for new party members, the new region is expected to grow the game’s roster substantially.
