Ghost of Tsushima’sIki Island expansion includes more side quests and missions for Jin to participate in as he attempts to rescue the people from the seemingly mystical Eagle and her powerful horde of warriors and Shamans.The Caretakers of the Eagleis a quest where Jin must liberate the Cloud Forest Temple from the Eagle’s soldiers.
The temple is run by a monk named Zeshin who may have been brainwashed into believing the Mongols are saviors and liberators. This guide will show players how to complete theIki Island side missionand obtain the Charm of Deadly Return.
The Cloud Temple On Iki Island
The Cloud Temple is in the southern region of Iki Island and Jin can triggerThe Caretakers of the Eagle questby finding and talking toIto, one of the temple’s caretakers.Ito will explain that the Mongols intend to use the temple grounds as a stronghold to gain an advantage. He also learns that the Zeshin has succumbed to the Eagle’s poison.
Survey The Temple
Jin must survey the grounds, explore, and blend in to investigate. Follow the marker to an embankment to pass the steps near a shack and observe the Mongol supplies. Jin learns that the Mongols are coming the same night to take the temple and establish a fort to gain a military advantage.
Explore The Temple Grounds
Jin will change his attire so he blends in to avoid suspicion from the guards. Jin must speak to the locals andthe wardenstanding in front of the nearby building.
Follow the mission markers to locate the NPCs and listen to the conversations of the other caretakers working within the temple grounds. Then speak toOkamiin the area with small houses and theguardstanding outside the shack with non-believers inside.
Now Jin mustsneak to the back of the guarded shack and listen to the conversationthat can be heard through the small gap on the ground. Jin intends to rescue the prisoners but Jin must rest and wait until the evening.
Follow the mission marker andspeak to the caretakers resting by a campfire.
Rescue The Villagers In The Cloud Temple
Jin will retrieve his armor but must use stealth to return to the guarded shack and sneak through the gap.
Jin must stay hidden to complete the mission otherwise the Mongols will kill their captives.
Talk to the prisonersinside and the Mongols will arrive. Defeat the Mongol archer that enters the room, and continue to use stealth to kill the guard standing with their back to the sliding door.
Assassinate him through the door and kill the second guard patrolling the area without alerting the others.
Stay hidden in the shadows and sneak up behind the Mongol soldiers to eliminate them all.
After the last Mongol has been defeated rescue one of the captured villagers to finish the mission andwatch a cutscenewhere Jin helps the poisoned Monk overcome the poison in his bloodstream.
After completing the mission Jin will obtain theCharm of Deadly Return.The new charm will restock some of Jin’s quickfire ammoafter using the Iron Will technique.
