Players that are just starting their adventure through Grounded will likely find themselves overwhelmed by all the massive creepy crawlies that call the backyard home. It can be pretty alarming to see huge ants, spiders, and flying insects towering overhead. For this reason, many players focus heavily on arming themselves to the teeth to ensure they can combat all the dangers lurking around.

But insects aren’t the only thing that makes survival difficult in the hostile world. Players will also have to worry about eating and drinking, as letting the hunger or thirst meter completely deplete will actually outright kill a player after a short period of time. To make matters worse, players will actually take a big hit to their hunger if they drink dirty water. To combat this, players will need to either find fresh water droplets along blades of grass or create a source of water to keep themselves hydrated.
Thankfully, items like the Dew Collector can ensure players will never run out of fresh water in their bases. Here’s how to construct the Dew Collector in Grounded and how exactly it works.

How To Make The Dew Collector In Grounded
Crafting the Dew Collector isn’t too difficult but it will require the player to get their hands on quite a few materials, making it a bit of a hassle in the early game. Because of this, players need to focus on first creating a Canteen and always ensure theycollect water from nearby sources to keep themselves hydratedin order to explore and gain the necessary components to create the Dew Collector.
The first thing players should focus on is crafting a Spinning Wheel. This is required to produce the silk that players need to make a Dew Collector. To unlock the recipe for the Spinning Wheel, players first need to find either an Acorn Top or a Web Fiber and take it to any analyzer. Acorn tops are easy to collect and can be grabbed at the base of the massive Oak Tree. Players will need at least a Pebblet Hammer to break the acorns apart and retrieve the tops. Once players have the recipe, they can build the Spinning Wheel.

After the Spinning Wheel has been crafted, players will need to feed some Web Fibers into it to produce Silk Rope. Web Fibers can be grabbed by simply punching spider webs or defeating Spiderlings. Players will need to analyze the Web Fiber to unlock the recipe, which they can then build at the Spinning Wheel. Once they have one Silk Rope, players should take it to an analyzer to unlock the Dew Collector recipe. They can then toss the needed materials together to make the Dew Collector.
What Does The Dew Collector Do?
The Dew Collector can be built and set out to help produce water. Every 5 to 10 minutes, a water droplet will show up on the webbing covering the Dew Collector, which players can either drink or scoop up with a Canteen. Each Dew Collector can hold up to 4 water droplets before it’s “full.” By combining the Dew Collector with a Water Container, players can create and store large amounts of water to keep themselves hydrated and fill their canteens. Water Collectors can hold up to six drops of water and players can transfer the water from a Dew Collector into the Water Container by using a Canteen. If players build enough of these devices, they shouldn’t have to worry about finding fresh water in the backyard to survive.
