Mitsumi Tokyo factory and Japanese yo-yo master Takahiko Hasegawa teamed up to create a real-life version of Bridget’s bullet yo-yo fromGuilty Gear Strive. While this yo-yo may not be as deadly as its equivalent in the game, it lets fans show their love for Bridget and theGuilty Gearseries while performing cool yo-yo tricks.
Bridget is a recurring character in theGuilty Gearseries, who first appeared in 2002’sGuilty Gear X2. Born as a male a few moments after her twin brother in an English village fearing male twins,Bridget was raised as a girland revealed identifying as one inGuilty Gear Strive. She left her hometown to become a bounty hunter, defeating her enemies with a yo-yo she received from her father and a mechanized teddy bear called Roger.

Fans ofGuilty Gear Strivecan now purchaseBridget’s iconic yo-yo, as Mitsumi Tokyo factory and Japanese yo-yo master Takahiko Hasegawa recreated this fictional weapon in real life. Two versions of this yo-yo are available for pre-order, with an expected shipment in May 2023. For 44,000 yen, or around $330, fans ofGuilty Gearcan get Bridget’s metallic yo-yo in either gray or red.
These metallic yo-yos inspired by Bridget’s weapon are made of a total of 39 parts, with their body made of duralumin, the shaft using stainless steel, and the bullet part comprising a combination of brass, iron, and copper. According to the manufacturer, this is the first yo-yo in the world that combines five different metals for a unique design.Bridget’s bullet yo-yoworks as a normal yo-yo so that players can perform various tricks with it. However, this exclusive model is not suitable for competitive tricks as it is screwed in a different way than traditional yo-yos.
Mitsumi Tokyo factory and Takahiko Hasegawa created this real-life version of Bridget’s bullet yo-yo by taking inspiration fromGuilty Gear Strive’s in-game screenshots. However, they couldn’t manufacture a metallic yo-yo as big as the one Bridget uses in the game due to the risk of the yo-yo being used as a weapon and the weight preventing it from completing yo-yo tricks. The manufacturer decided to opt for a miniature version of Bridget’s bullet yo-yo while keeping everything that makes it unique, from its design to colors and textures. AsGuilty Gear Strivedidn’t show much detail about Bridget’s yo-yo besides its exterior appearance, Mitsumi Tokyo factory and Takahiko Hasegawa made some changes to create a real-life yo-yo that could please bothGuilty Gearfans and yo-yo enthusiasts.
