Merlin Trials are challenges introduced byHogwarts Legacyas a method to help players increase their Gear inventory. It’s not a secret that everyone starts with a small capacity that becomes increasingly annoying as players progress through the game.
Although there are close to 100 Merlin Trials inHogwarts Legacy, the puzzles are repetitive and protagonists will encounter the same puzzle more than once while completing these Merlin Trials. The only difference is that the puzzles will vary in difficulty.

How To Solve All Merlin Trial Puzzles In Hogwarts Legacy
There are nine different Merlin puzzles, with each one requiring a certainspell inHogwarts Legacyto complete it.
The Symbol Cube Puzzle
The symbol cube puzzle might be the trickiest one to solve. That’s becauseFlipendomust be used on the cubeuntil all the upper symbols match with the lower ones. Keep in mind that which side players perform the spell will affect how the cube moves, meaning the correct solution would only take around two to four spells.
The Firefly Puzzle
The firefly puzzle is arguably the easiest one to complete. Simply find three swarms of fireflies and castLumosto guide each swarm individually back to its pillar. UsingReveliohelps players find the swarm faster, especially if it’s hidden from the naked eye.
The Orbs Pillars Puzzle
There are usually nine orbs pillars that need destroying tocomplete the puzzle inHogwarts Legacy. Most of the time, the pillars are divided into groups, where every three orbs are found together as a group. On the other hand, it’s also possible to find them all in the same place. Simply cast Revelio to pinpoint the pillars’ location easier. As for destroying the orbs, it can be done by a normal attack or by a spell likeConfringoorBombarda.
The Stone Sphere Puzzle
Upon encountering a giant sphere while completing a Merlin Trial, there will also be a pit somewhere near the sphere location. That’s becausecompleting this puzzle requires transporting the sphere back to the pit using a spell. The most usedspells inHogwarts LegacyareDepulsoorWingardium Leviosa.
The Orbs Platforms Puzzle
In the orbs platforms puzzle, protagonists need tofind a cluster of small orbs and guide them to a platform to form a small pyramid. There are usually three platforms and three clusters of orbs that can be moved usingAccioorWingardium Leviosa. The orbs and the platform are found by casting Revelio.
The Platform Bridge Puzzle
Completing the platform bridge puzzle requires no spell whatsoever. Simply locate the platforms and jump on them in order without skipping one or falling to the ground.
The Brazier Puzzle
The brazier puzzle is all about igniting the three braziers using a firespell inHogwarts Legacy. Players need tolight all three braziers from the tallest to the shortest quickly before one reaches the ground, otherwise, the puzzle will reset.Confringois ideally the best spell for this puzzle
The Broken Statues Puzzle
The mending charmReparois an essential spell for the broken statuepuzzle inHogwarts Legacy. As the title suggests, protagonists need to find broken statues by casting Revelio and fixing them using Reparo.
The Stone Pillars Puzzle
The solution to the stone pillars puzzle is quite simple, as players only need todestroy five pillars by casting Bombarda twice or Confringo. As easy as it sounds, the location of the pillars isn’t always in plain sight, so players might need to search high and low to find them.
