Players will first need to mine for some gold nuggets. Gold nuggets are needed to craft the mask, but the only way to get the DIY is to prompt a discovery. Taking a gold nugget from the storage or getting one from another player won’t count. Once the player successfully mines a gold nugget after hitting some rocks, the player character will suddenly have a new idea for a DIY recipe, which will appear in theapp via the NookPhoneor via a workbench.
The King Tut mask will be thenewest DIY recipe available for craftingand should appear at the top of the list, but it requires five gold nuggets to make. Once five gold nuggets are collected and the mask is crafted, it’ll go perfectly in a golden room unless players want to scurry around their islands looking like royalty. With the addition of the extremely heavy golden mask comes a new tripping mechanic: if the player is sprinting with the mask on, they might get a bit topsy turvy and trip themselves up.
The King Tut mask was first seen inNew Leafand, paired with the Egyptian outfit, would create the official Egyptian look resembling a Pharaoh. Outside ofcustom designs from creativeAnimal Crossingplayers, it doesn’t look like there’s been an addition of an Egyptian outfit intoNew Horizons, but perhaps this is another added item thanks to the Wave 2 update yet to be discovered by fans.
