Final Fantasy 16: The Rising Tidegives a whole new region for players to explore, full of new enemies to fight, gear to find, and, of course, a new Eikon. Leviathan The Lost is at the center of this DLC, with players getting access to the Eikon’s powers very early into the main story.
While Leviathan is at the center of the DLC’s base story, there is still a lot more content to see after completing the fight with Leviathan and closing out that story. The next bit of content will come in the form of the Kairos Gate, which acts as various challenge fights players can complete. Before entering the Kairos Gate’s challenge, Clive will first need to get one more Eikon’s abilities,Ultima.
How To Unlock Ultima’s Abilities in FF16: The Rising Tide
To unlock Ultima’s abilities, players will firstneed tostartand complete The Rising Tide’s main storyline,which shouldn’ttake much timefor those who want to quickly unlock Ultima. After the final battle with Leviathan, Clive, Joshua, and Jill will wrap up the story ofHaven,and players will get a notification of the Kairos Gate being active. Head back to the Hideout, andinteract with the Arete Stone in the Mess Hall.
The stone will have a slightly different appearance, and interacting with it will take Clive to a new location. This is where Ultima gives Clive a fraction of his power, unlocking Ultima as a new Eikon to equip, with its own set of skills. Players will also be given a test battle where only Ultima’s abilities and Eikonic Feat can be used, but this is only a small taste of his stronger abilities. Obtaining Ultima’s abilities will also give players theDeus Ex trophy, as they can now channel the power of the heavens alongside their other Eikons.
How Powerful Are Ultima’s Eikonic Abilities?
As one may suspect, Ultima’s abilities are some of the best in the game, all dealing incredible amounts of damage and most having a surprisingly quick cooldown. Many of these abilities have a longer cast and effect time, making it easy to juggle between only Ultima’s abilities in combat.
DespiteClivenow having the power of another Eikon and Ultima himself, thisdoesn’t offer a new ending to the gameas many fans theorized. Despite that, Ultima’s abilities are perfect for those looking to traverse the Kairos Gate and attempt the powerful battles ahead to hone the skills of their new Eikon.
