In a story filled with characters primarily concerned with honor, duty, and victory above all else,Immortals of Aveum’s Kenzie is a breath of anarchistic fresh air. Hailing from the sky islands of Oremen, the quick-witted red Magnus isn’t afraid to let Jak and the other Immortals know exactly how she feels about what she sees as their authoritarian tactics. But even as she verbally spars with the Order of Immortals over their ideological differences during her all-too-short appearance in the Ascendant Studios shooter, she does so with a hard-to-miss dash of flirtatiousness that would make her fit in perfectly with theromanceable characters ofBaldur’s Gate 3.

During her interactions with Jak and his fellow Immortals, Kenzie is a constant source of quick-witted quips and soon proves to be one ofImmortals of Aveum’s best charactersdespite her brief appearance in the story. As portrayed by actress Anna Brisbin, Kenzie is consistently upbeat even as the world of Aveum literally crumbles around her. Providing an ideological counterweight to the pro-Lucium propaganda protagonist Jak has been subject to throughout his life, Kenzie leaves the fledgling Magus questioning some of his ideals while also leaving him blushing thanks to her unabashed flirting.

Kenzie’s Firebrand Personality Makes Her an Unexpected Ally for the Uptight Immortals

Players first meet Kenzie after traveling alongAveum’s magical leylinesto the Sky Islands of Oremen. Once one of the five kingdoms warring for control of Aveum, the land and its people were blasted skyward after a magical mishap by the Magni of Oremen. Now consisting of a series of floating islands, powerful magic still contained within Oremen’s ruins holds the potential to defeatImmortals of Aveum’s antagonist, Sandrakk, once and for all. Jak and Devyn first find themselves face-to-face with Kenzie after barely surviving a scrap with the magical automatons still inhabiting the shattered kingdom.

Providing one of the game’s most unexpected matchups, Kenzie and Jak’s typically uptightImmortal ally Devynseem almost instantly drawn to each other. The pair engage in a back-and-forth discourse over their respective political beliefs, with the barbed insults they exchange carrying an undeniable air of flirtatiousness. When Kenzie takes off down the leylines Devyn volunteers almost-too-eagerly to chase after her, clearly hoping to continue his chat with the free-spirited revolutionary. When the trio come together again Kenzie’s flirtatious nature comes through once more as she lets Jak know she’s disappointed to see someone she finds “really hot” caught up in the war effort.

When It Comes to Who Catches Her Eye, Kenzie Doesn’t Discriminate

Devyn and Jak aren’t the only Immortals that Kenzie takes a shine to over the course ofImmortals of Aveum, though. Despite her disdain for the political system they represent, the rowdy red Magnus appears to have a soft spot for members of the Order of Immortals. When trying to discover the whereabouts of the mysterious magic-wielder known as Thaddeus, it seems quite likely from the way that Kenzie mournfully talks about his absence that she had more than a platonic interest in the exiled Immortal.

Showing that she doesn’t discriminate when it comes to who catches her eye, one of Kenzie’s most hilarious moments comes when she travels to the Immortals’ floating base, the Palathon. Having been warned to tone down her anti-imperialist views when meeting Jak’s field commander, theintimidating Immortal Zendara, Kenzie walks into the room clearly prepared to deliver a political takedown before finding herself speechless at the sight of the Kalthus warrior princess. Noticing her reaction to Zendara, Devyn playfully jokes that Kenzie is “all eat-the-rich until someone gets the vapors.”

With her playful banter and irrepressibly flirty nature,Immortals of Aveum’s sky-nomad Kenzie would fit in well withBaldur’s Gate 3’s frequently bawdy cast of characters. Despite her freewheeling approach to flirting, though, even the decidedly open-minded Kenzie might have to draw the line when it comes to romancing theMind Flayers inBaldur’s Gate 3.
