Cursed Spirits are a race of supernatural creatures born from the negative emotions of human beings. Negative emotions like hatred and fear, among others, have given birth to cursed spiritsdue to the cursed energythat flows out of humans. They are also referred to as curses and bring harm to humans. Jujutsu sorcerers exist to exorcise these curses and protect humanity.

Cursed spirits, like humans, are ranked from grade 4 to special grades. With special grade being the strongest, even with a carpet bombing of cluster bombs, you will be on even footing. Cursed spirits vary in appearance, method of birth, and strength in general. Here are some of the most potent cursed spirits inJujutsu Kaisen.
9Finger Bearer
This is the first special grade cursed spirit, which the group of Yuuji, Megumi, and Nobara run into at the detention center in episode 4. Finger bearers are cursed spirits born from cursed wombs that ingested a special grade cursed object in Ryoumen Sukuna’s finger. Holding 0.05% of Sukuna’s power, this cursed spirit had an immense amount of cursed energy and was too much for the trio to deal with.
At birth, the cursed spirit creates an innate domain and can unleash pure cursed energy blasts, which surprised Megumi, an experienced sorcerer. The cursed spirit toyed with Yuuji, who has insane strength and speed, even though he could not use any cursed energy. The finger bearer are powerful cursed spirits that would be too much for most jujutsu sorcerers.
8Smallpox Deity
One of the sixteen registered special-grade cursed spirits that Pseudo Geto controlled in Shibuya. This is a disease cursed spirit born from humanity’s fear of smallpox. Geto said this cursed spirit was one of the strongest in his arsenal and wanted to use it to gauge the strength of a grade 1 sorcerer.
This cursed spirit has a gravestone-cursed technique, starting when it traps its target inside a cramped coffin and drops a giant tombstone on top of the casket, dealing heavy damage and burying the coffin underground. Once the gravestone is placed, the disease curse begins to countdown, and when it reaches one, the target gets infected with smallpox and dies. The smallpox deityhas a fully realized domainthat would cause any sorcerer problems.
7Kurourushi
Another member of the 16 registered special grade cursed spirits, Kurourushi, was released by Kenjaku to participate in the culling games. Born out of humans' fear of cockroaches, Kurourushi is a cursed Spirit that killed humans and devoured them simply because it loved the taste of iron.

Kurourushi was caught in a deadlock in the Sendai colony, but when Yuta Okkostu broke the deadlock, it didn’t hesitate to attack the special-grade sorcerer.Kurourushi could control countless cockroachesreinforced with cursed energy that could quickly devour any human in a split second and had a life-festering sword that was said to mix life and death.
6Dagon
Born from humans' fear of water-based disasters, Dagon was a docile cursed spirit for most of the story until the Shibuya incident, where it evolved. Dagon was on another level in his evolved state, so 2 grade 1 sorcerers in Nanamin and Naobito couldn’t significantly damage him. He was so durable that even with Nanamin’s ratio technique, he couldn’t do any significant damage.
He had immense cursed energy that surprised Naobito. And he could use a domain expansion. Even without his domain’s sure hit, Dagon was still comfortable fighting four v 1 against Maki, Naobito, Nanamin, and Megumi. Dagon is the weakest disaster-cursed Spirit, but he can still hold his own against grade-1 sorcerers.
5Naoya
After being killed by Maki’s mom, the former grade 1 sorcerer turn vengeful cursed Spirit, one of the strongest we have seen in the series so far. In a cursed form, Naoya retained his cursed technique, “Projection sorcery.” But with him having a cursed spirit’s body, he could take this to insane heights as his body could finally allow him to go as fast as he needed to.
Cursed form Naoya in his unevolved state, was able to build up speed and reach Mach 3 speed which blitzed Maki even after the perfect preparation arc. He could overwhelm and dominate Maki and Noritoshi Kamo, where all they could do was react and barely save each other. After he fully evolved, he opened a domain expansion. Cursed form Naoya is one of the fastest in the entire series, and as he said, “strength is weight and speed.”
4Hanami
He is a cursed Spirit born from humans' fears of land-based Natural disasters. Of all the disaster-cursed spirits, hanami is the calmest. Hanami cares about nature, and his main plan is to wipe out humans so that wildlife can survive in peace. In the goodwill event arc, when the cursed Spirits invaded Jujutsu high, none of the students' attacks could significantly damage her except Todo and Yuuji’s attack.

But Hanami’s most impressive in this fight is that he survived five black flash hits from Yuuji and cursed energy imbued playful clouds from Todou.Hanami also has domain expansionand domain amplification.
3Jogo
Jogo believed cursed spirits should replace humans, and to do that, he teamed up with Geto to seal Gojo and bring Sukuna back. Geto stated Jogo is up to 8/9 worth of Sukuna’s fingers when it comes to his full power. Jogo has immense cursed energy, as Gojo confirmed, saying he has more cursed energy than three-finger Sukuna.
Jogo has a domain expansion that would kill most sorcerers the moment they entered his domain and a maximum technique. Jogo is unlucky as he had to fightthe two strongest charactersin the series, Gojo, and Sukuna. He is weak when compared to them, but compared to everyone else, Jogo is among the top hitters in the story. So Jogo is not a small fry. He just needs to pick his opponents better.
2Mahito
Regarding hax and abilities alone,Mahito is one of the strongestinJujutsu Kaisen. Mahito is a cursed Spirit born from human hatred and negative feelings toward one another, making him one of the most dangerous Cursed Spirits ever. He is intelligent, manipulative, and calculative.
Mahito can manipulate the souls of anyone his hands touch, and anyone who doesn’t know the outline of their soul can’t damage him. Mahito is incredibly skilled at Jujutsu as he pulled off a domain in his fight real fight and evolved to his full state in his later fights. Mahito was such a menace that he was a special-grade cursed spirit just a few days after being born.
1Rika
Rika is a vengeful cursed Spirit born after the death of Rika Orimoto,a friend of Yuta Okkostuwho ended up cursing her. Rika was so powerful in volume 0; she could take out grade 2 sorcerers and grade 1 sorcerers with just her hands without being fully manifested. The higher-ups were scared about what would happen if she fully manifested.
Rika can copy cursed techniques and possesses boundless energy to better execute them better. When Okkotsu removed the limits on her cursed energy, her pure love beam could completely overwhelm Geto’s maximum technique: Uzumaki, which combined 4,461 cursed spirits into a cursed energy blast. Rika has been named the Queen of Curses and for good reason.
