The Storyline

Echopicks up after the events ofHawkeyeand will detail Maya’s journey towards heroism, now that she’s abandoned Wilson Fisk for having her father killed, and left the Tracksuit Mafia behind. The casting of Jacobs as newcomer Julie implies that Maya will have at least one ally as she starts her new life away from her dark past. The suspected return of McClarnon as William Lopez also hints at there being flashbacks to Maya’s past throughout the series, sinceHawkeyeconfirmed that Clint Barton killed William years ago, when he went rogue as Ronin between the events ofInfinity WarandEndgame.

The official synopsisfor the series states that Maya will run into some trouble, because of her previous affiliations to Kingpin and the Tracksuits. It additionally states that she’ll be reconnecting with her Native American heritage and her hometown community, in order to move past the things she did while living in New York. Other than that, the details surrounding the series are being kept under lock and key, so fans will likely have to wait until the premiere to figure out where Marvel plans to take Maya next.
