The terrifying Wardens found dwelling deep in the ancient cities of everyMinecraftworld have been a massive hit since their introduction, and one creative fan of the game dares to imagine what alternate forms of this creature could look like if it lived in dimensions outside the Overworld. The Warden is far stronger than the average mob inMinecraftand is unique in its ability to hunt its prey via sound and scent alone.
Introduced to the game with the Wild Update in 2022, the Warden is a rare and powerful creature that protects the secrets of the long-abandoned ancient cities. While at first they might seem to present themselves as a sort of boss, these visually-impaired beasts aren’t actually meant to be fought. Instead, they’ve been designed in such a way as toprovide something of a horror aspect toMinecraft, relying purely on their senses of hearing and smell to hunt players and other mobs who trespass on their territory. Killing a Warden is possible but challenging, as it has a total of 500 health points - more than twice the amount of the Ender Dragon.

It’s fair to say that the Warden is among the most mechanically complex mobs inMinecraft, and the intricacy of the creature has inspired one fan to imagine how different versions of the Warden could look and behave. The fan, known by the name throwaway_ghast on Reddit, shared a post on the site which showed off different appearances for the Warden, with each form taking inspiration fromthe different dimensions withinMinecraft. The idea is that the Overworld, Nether, and End dimensions could each harbor their own versions of the Warden complete with their own mechanics to boot. The fan behind the idea also went on to give each of these Wardens their own names - with the “Hollowed” to dwell within the Nether, and the “Stalker” to prowl the dark plains of the End.
The post rapidly gained popularity among theMinecraftcommunity, no doubt thanks to the popularity of the Warden itself. Many fans intrigued by these concepts were eager to provide their own thoughts too, with some players speculating how each version of the Warden could be complete with different behaviors, mechanics, and methods of attacking. WithMinecraft’s current Warden being fully blind, many fans even proposed that an alternate Warden form could rely on a keen sense of sight instead.
Though the Wild Update added a touch of both terror and mystery with its additions last year,Minecraftis still going strong with its content updates. The recently-released Trails and Tales update puts a little more emphasis on exploration inMinecraft, adding a whole new cherry blossom biome, trail ruin structures, a couple of new mobs, and plenty of gameplay features to keep players feeling curious.
