Launching last week to high acclaim and dramatic sales numbers,Ghost of Tsushimahas been yet another smash hit for Sony, with many claiming its the perfect way to close out the PlayStation 4’s life cycle. The game even managed to becomethe fastest-selling new IP on the PS4, beating out the likes ofHorizon: Zero Dawn, Death Stranding, andDays Gone.

A week on, dedicated fans who have been playing the game are likely looking for something to keep them chugging through Sucker Punch’s vivid samurai world, and luckily, it seems the studio is about to give it to them. Releasing today, a brand new patch will add some major new addition toGhost of Tsushima’sworld, with two major new modes and an accessibility option being added to make for a more custom fit experience.

The biggest of these additions is easily a wholly new difficulty mode known as “Lethal,” which will amp upGhost of Tsushima’schallenge for players looking for something a little more intense. According to the new patch notes, “enemy weapons are more deadly, but Jin’s katana is also more deadly,” making for tenser battles. Foes will allegedly also be more aggressive, will detect players faster when in stealth, and will offer smaller windows for parries and dodges. It sounds like a far more challenging version of the base game reserved for players who want a more unforgiving experience.

Sucker Punch will also be adding lower intensity mode which, as its name suggests, is the complete antithesis of the Lethal mode. It will provide players with a much less demanding version of its core combat systems, with the studio claiming it will “maintain the heart and feel ofGhost of Tsushimacombatwhile relaxing several timing-specific elements.” According to the notes, most unblockable enemy attacks will now be blockable, with the exception of a few that must be dodged. Meanwhile, enemies break off combos after damaging players, giving them time to recover, and will not hit them when using resolve to refill your health. Stealth will be easier too, with enemies taking longer to detect Jin.

Finally, the patch also adds new text options, with players able to increase “subtitles, mission objectives and interact prompts by 150% when enabled.” It allows users to turn off speaker names on subtitles as well, while also offering the ability to change the color of text to red, green, blue, or yellow. Overall, it seems like a patch that provides players with more optionsto tailor-fit theirGhost of Tsushimaexperience.

Ghost of Tsushimais available now on PlayStation 4.
