Summary

TheStranger Thingswriters have been teasing season 5 on social media amid the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, and one recent post showed a spoiler connected to the upcoming season.

Stranger Thingsseason 5 is already highly anticipated because it is the perfect time to end it, at leastaccording to David Harbour. Finally, the kids of Hawkins will graduate from their terrors and say goodbye. But the anticipation forStranger Thingshas been kicked into high gear because of the ongoing strikes. The WGA strike has resolved, but the longer the actors continue to picket, the more concerned the writers have become that their vision will not come to fruition.

Some writers under the Twitter handle@strangerwritershave been releasing videos ofwhatStranger Thingsseason 5 could look likeif the AMPTP doesn’t come to terms with SAG. And though it makes for hilarious content, one recent video seemingly has an unexpected plot point forStranger Thingsseason 5. “One more week without a deal. One more week closer to this,” @strangerwriters teased with a corresponding video. In it, the video shows visual effects of who appear to be Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Nancy (Natalia Dyer), and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) screaming in a car. But take a closer look, and viewers can see the scene’s location. In the upper left-hand corner, the video is annotated with the location of the McCorkle Farm.

Though it has been some time since they have returned to the location, fans may remember that the McCorkle Farm was a brief location in season 2. Eugene McCorkle (Al Mitchell) was one of the farmers struggling with a contaminated pumpkin patch. The rot was later revealed to be asymptom of the Mind Flayer, a demonic entity from the Upside Down. When Hopper (David Harbour) digs beneath the rotted pumpkins, he finds a vast tunnel system covered in slimy vines. These vines are part of the Mind Flayer’s hive mind and demonstrate that Hawkins is rotten to the core.

The reveal of this video doesn’t prove that McCorkle will reappear, but it does seem to indicate that everything will come circle in the final season. If the Hawkins crew returns to the farm, we may see a return of the Mind Flayer or a reoccurrence of themes in the season. One of the biggest fan theories is that Will Byers (Noah Schnapps) will be the ultimate villain of the final season. After being lost in the Upside Down in season 1, he has never had a break for the rest of the series. In season 2,Stranger Thingswriters confirmed that Will almost killed someoneafter spending significant time in the other dimension. Will’s wounds run deep, and his torture may not be over.
