Fans got their best look at one of the upcoming villains forSony’sVenom: Let There Be Carnage. The villain in question is Naomie Harris' Shriek, who is a well-known character from the Marvel comic books. Shriek, who will be making her live-action debut inVenom 2,is typically known for being a mutant with the powers to manipulate soundwaves and emulate flight.
Shriek is a very deadly foe in the Marvel universe and is also known for being the lover of Cletus Kasady/Carnage, the main antagonist ofSony’sVenom 2. Kasady is a serial killer from the comics who has an encounter with a different strain of the symbiote that gives himsimilar powers to Eddie Brock/Venom(the film’s protagonist).

It’s unknown how much involvement Shriek will have inVenom 2, but one thing fans do know is that they cast the talented Harris in the role of this character. Fans couldn’t have asked for a better actor, as Harris has experience with a wide range of roles in films. She’s starred in films such asMoonlight,Skyfall,Spectre,Southpaw, Pirates of the Caribean: At World’s End,and the upcomingJames Bond film No Time to Die.
Shriek is typically known as a mutant in the comics but it’s unclear if this part of her origin will be recognized inVenom 2. With the recent speculation about the MCU existing in the same universe asSony’s recentSpider-Manspin-offs(MorbiusandVenom),there’s the possibility that she’ll be one of the mutants to join the long-awaited MCU rendition of the X-Men.
Shriek also is known as a recurring villain who works with other villains such as Demogoblin and Doppelganger. Shriek can also manipulate other people’s emotions through soundwaves and later develops the ability to tap into one’s psyche in order to bring out their inner darkness, which causes her foes to lash out.
Fox’s properties includedX-MenandFantastic Four, to name a few, which will likely be pivotal in the years to come during the upcoming MCU films. With that being said, here’s hoping thatVenom: Let There Be Carnagedelivers, and if the two universes crossover let’s hope it’s a smooth transition.
