One Piece’slatest chapter saw Luffy’s fight against Kaido progress further and as Onigashima hurtles towards the Flower Capital, the two pirates atop the roof of Onigashima draw closer to their limits as well. The fight between the two has been quite even so far, with Luffy growing stronger throughout it and learning new abilities, such asthe infusion of Conqueror’s Haki. With time, his usage of the power had been improving to a point where he can fight Kaido on an equal footing and match him in combat blow for blow.
At the same time, Kaido hasn’t shied away from showing his arsenal to the fans as well and has recently unleashed his full power by accessing his many drunk forms. A massive surprise that came the way of fans in the latest chapter was Kaido’s ability to see the future with Observation Haki.

What Is Future Sight Observation Haki?
Introduced to the story via Charlotte Katakuri, Future Sight Observation Haki is an extremely powerful skill that allows the user to see a glimpse of the futureafter training their Observation Hakiexcessively. This power is an advanced Haki form that one attains when they take their Color of Observation to the highest level. Charlotte Katakuri, the second son of Big Mom, is an incredible user of this power and quite possibly the best that the fans have seen in the story to date.
In Whole Cake Island,Luffy also picked up this skill when he fought Katakuriin the Mirro World. Although his usage of the ability was rather crude back then, he has been improving its usage continuously since. In the Wano Country arc, Luffy has become an adept user of this skill, and it has also helped him greatly in the fight against Kaido.

Kaido’s Future Sight Observation Haki Skill
Although Kaido has fought quite a few fighters atop Onigashima, starting from the Red Scabbards and then moving to the Worst Generation, he didn’t display this ability until recently. The implication here is that despite facing quite a few strong enemies, none posed an unavoidable threat as great as Monkey D. Luffy’s Snakeman. InOne PieceChapter 1042, Kaido, when faced with the sheer speed of Luffy’s Snakeman, had no other option butto rely on Future Sight Observation Hakito dodge Luffy’s unpredictable incoming attacks.
This is the very first time that Kaido has been pushed to a point where, instead of taking an attack head-on, he was made to see the future to evade it. At the same time, it is also quite surprising that Kaido has the ability to see the future. As explained by Rayleigh, not everyone in theOne Pieceworld can use this power, even if they’re extremely strong. Among the very strongest people, only a few have the power to see the future and now, Kaido is one of them.

He accessed this power in his Flirting Drunk phase and then switched to his Thieving Drunk phase to steal Luffy’s very own Gomu Gomu no Hydra, and incorporate it into his own fighting style. As the fight draws close to its end, Kaido is finally fighting with everything in his bag and is going all-out, which is incredible to see. The man who holds the reputation of being the “Strongest Creature in the World” desperately needed to show more of his bag of tricks to the fans and he did so in quite some style.
By the looks of it,Kaido’s control over the ability to see the futureis immense. Luffy, being quite skilled in Future Sight, was completely blitzed by Kaido who, after seeing the future, was able to dodge everything that Luffy threw his way with the sheer ferocity of Snakeman, and then bite his torso. While Luffy did manage to land hits on him still – as is expected of another Future Sight user – Kaido showed that his usage of the ability was just as good, if not better. Having shown the power to see the future, the fight has once again shifted in Kaido’s favor now.
To make matters worse, due to the intervention of CP0, Luffy was struck by Kaido’s full power Roaring Thunder Bagua and might be knocked unconscious. Kaido looks visibly shattered at his opponent losing to him due to an interference that he clearly didn’t want – a sign that he truly sees Luffy as his equal. The next few chapters will completely define the fate of the Land of Wano as Luffy is now close to losing the fight. Nonetheless, Luffy is likely to get up and continue his fight very soon. Oda appears to be drawing a parallel here to Kaido’s fight against Oden. Where Oden fell to Kaido’s cheap shot, Luffy will survive, proving that he’s completely surpassed Oden as a fighter in every manner. Rest assured, Luffy is far from done and the best of the clash is yet to come.
