The latestOverwatch 2hero has some players disappointed with regard to his cosmetics, as Ramattra’s Golden Weapon feels lackluster when compared to other heroes from the game’s roster. Voiced by Ramon Tikaram,Ramattra is the first hybrid tank ofOverwatch 2,and his unique gameplay made him a popular selection in theOverwatchcommunity. His character design is considered to be among the best in a game famous for it, and Ramattra’s personal history with Zenyatta has many players excited about his role in the upcomingOverwatch 2campaign.
WhileOverwatch 2fans would agree that the cosmetics in the game are living up to the high standards that Blizzard established with the originalOverwatch, the underlying monetization behind its cosmetics system leaves a lot to be desired. A good first step that the developers made was thenew Gingerbread Bastion skinbeing sold for just oneOverwatchcoin, but players still feel skeptical about the game’s overall direction. The great thing about Golden Weapons inOverwatch 2is that they exist outside the monetization system, as players can unlock them by spending Competitive Points earned through the game’s Competitive Mode.

TheGolden Weapon for Ramattra inOverwatch 2changes his staff into a very stylish gilded version but otherwise does nothing for the character, who is famously built to switch between two forms every eight seconds. Unlike Genji getting new shurikens, deflect dagger, and dragonblade, Ramattra’s fists in his Nemesis form remain the same. TorpidT believes that this is a shortcoming that could easily be fixed by Blizzard, and given the reception the thread received on the officialOverwatch 2subreddit, it would seem that many players would agree.
Thankfully, there is a precedent for post-release changes such as the one TorpidT is asking, as Ashe initially launched inOverwatchwithout Bob having any change when her Golden Weapon was applied. This is an addition that the developers could gain plenty of goodwill from, especially when one considers the current popularity of Ramattra since his introduction in Season 2. That being said, given how many new skins are being released per Season when compared to its predecessor, it’s possible theOverwatch 2team won’t be able to address Golden Weapons for quite some time.
Despite the current state of dissatisfaction in theOverwatchcommunity, players are still enjoying the moment-to-momentfast-paced gameplay ofOverwatch 2, and their passionate criticism seems born out of a love for the game. While Blizzard no doubt has a stressful schedule in trying to meet its internal roadmap for 2023, players hope that the developers will still find time for some of these fixes.
Overwatch 2is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
