APokemonfan dressed up as the iconic Pikachu was driving around in a modified lawn mower pulling a trailer and in a shocking turn of events, the Roachdale, Indiana Police Department found itself in a not-so-high-speed-chase with thisPikachu on Halloween night. The Roachdale Police Department made a statement about the curious event on its Facebook page, and although it recognized the seriousness of the situation, the Police Department wasn’t afraid to poke fun at the obviously bizarre and ridiculous situation with a few puns.

Halloween night is sure to bring just as many tricks as it does treats, but the Roachdale Police department claims that this is a new first for everyone working there. Notably, Pikachu tends to avoid criminal activity in thePokemongames and anime, so fans of the franchise are no doubt caught by surprise by this development as well.

According to the Roachdale Police, the suspect was “driving recklessly through town” on a modded lawn mower while pulling a trailer behind them. This behavior endangers the driver, peoples' property, and most importantly the children and adults out and about for a bit of trick or treating fun, so naturally, the police responded to the call. What they found was someonedressed up in a Pikachu costumewho reportedly flipped the responding deputy off before continuing on the joy ride. In order to avoid endangering anybody, police found the suspect at their home later and took them into custody.

Not afraid to make light of the situation, the Roachdale Police Department humorously refers to the suspect as Pikachu rather than by any real name. They also claim that “Pikachu acted alone” before invokingPokemon’s iconic sloganby saying that the police are “not opposed to catching them all.” The image of a crazed Pikachu on a lawnmower flipping the police off and then driving away is certainly something. Thankfully, it seems as though the Roachdale Police Department was able to get the situation under control.

On a more serious note, the suspect is being charged with criminal recklessness and two counts of resisting arrest. The statement also claims that the Roachdale Police Department does not believe that drugs and alcohol were a factor inPikachu’s rash decision making on Halloween night. So far there is no word about whether or not any body cam or dash cam footage showing this spectacle will be released, but there are plenty of hopeful onlookers patiently waiting for such a release.
