Unlocking Nightcap Snorlax inPokemon GOis a time-consuming feat that can keep players busy for over a month, but a new exploit dramatically speeds up that process. While there’s still a fair amount of effort involved, dedicated players making use of this exploit can potentiallyunlock Nightcap Snorlaxin a matter of days, rather than weeks.

Nightcap Snorlax is a fairly new addition toPokemon GOthat was added as a promotion for thePokemon GOPlus+ device and its functionality withPokemon Sleep. Players who own the Pokemon GO Plus+ device can use it to monitor their sleep, which then shares basic information about sleep quality in-app once they awaken. Players typically need to spend 35 days using this system in order to acquire the Nightcap Snorlax.

Now,PokemonYouTuber LiftingandZombies has shared an exploit that takes advantage of what the system qualifies as a night’s sleep. In order to acquire the Nightcap Snorlax early, players can start by getting a simple night’s sleep with the device, as they likely already have been. Once that night’s sleep has been registered, the player needs to move their phone’s clock ahead so that the system believes another day has elapsed. From there, all that’s needed is to activate thePokemon GO Plus+’s sleep mode, allow it to stay there for at least 1 1/2 hours, and then wake the device and repeat the process.

As one might imagine, this means thatPokemon GOplayers still needs to go through 35 days' worth of ‘sleep’ in order to unlock the special Snorlax. However, this cuts the process down to a little over 3,000 minutes, or roughly 52 hours' worth of “sleep.” It’s a bit tedious to perform this process, but committed players can perform this method whenever they have free time, shaving off a day or more from the total whenever they like. Those who are truly dedicated can potentially gain Snorlax in less than a week, even if they haven’t recorded a single night’s sleep yet.

It remains to be seen if this exploit will be patched or not. Ordinarily, the system is set up to only record two sleeping sessions per day, and setting the clock forward bypasses that. If the app were revised to rely on a clock set by an outside source, however, this exploit wouldn’t work anymore.Pokemon GOfanswho are desperate for a Nightcap Snorlax shouldn’t wait too long to give this a try.
