Temtemis perhaps one of the most surprising and impressive monster catching and collecting games of recent memory, alongside games likeOobletsandNexomon. Like those games,Temtemdoes certain things better thanPokemonwhile still differentiating itself.

While only available through Steam at the moment,Temtemhas plans to release on all major current-generation platforms like PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Now, the recent State of Play revealed the game will be coming to PlayStation 5 after the console launches sometime this holiday season.

For those who may have never heardTemtembefore, the game was a Kickstarter game back in 2018.Temtemis a monster-catching game sharing clear inspiration and many similarities with the video game giant,Pokemon. The game shares broad similarities like battling and capturing creatures, even sharing concepts likeSafari Zone-like areas added in updatesto the game during early access. While the game’s development studio Crema has plans to launch the game on consoles, it seems launch is still a ways off.

Today’s State of Play, however, dedicated a small chunk of its presentation toTemtem. While the brief trailer didn’t highlight anynew islands or new mystical creatures, the trailer did end with the announcement that the game will be coming to PS5 sometime after the console hits the market. Naturally, no date was given to the PS5 release ofTemtem, as the PlayStation 5 has yet to be given any release date aside from the vague holiday 2020 time frame.

Temtemhas received very positive reviews on Steam from critics and players alike, with many players praising the game in comparison toPokemon. WhilePokemonhas stood the test of time for nearly 25 years at this point, many fans of the franchise were a bit unsatisfied with the most recent mainline entry in the series,Sword and Shield.Temtemplayers have praised the game for providing them something thatPokemondid not, along with interesting islands to explore andcool looking TemTem creatures to capture and battlealongside.

SinceTemtemis currently only available on Steam through Early Access, the game is still constantly receiving updates as it gears up for its full launch. A recentupdate added a new island and temsto capture, while silently raising the price an extra $2.50 for the added content. Many PlayStation fans are eager to get their hands onTemtem, and luckily even those early adopters of the PS5 will have a chance to play the game on the newest hardware.
